What customers say

Lovely staff, cosy pods & great views. Afternoon tea, farm entry & train to London included. Some found lights flickered, heating inconsistent, showers low pressure & a bit dusty. Phone signal & Wi-Fi were also patchy.

The Chicken Coop 2 bedroom camping pod (hot tub)

Liked Wonderful place with the most pleasant and helpful staff, we had a small power cut one morning during our stay which wasn’t a problem at all, as a result we were given a free lunch in the very well equipped deli which was very much appreciated.

The Chicken Coop 2 bedroom camping pod (hot tub)

Liked We stayed at foxholes farm July 2023, with 3 children. Was a lovely stay with a welcome afternoon tea, bread and milk. Hot tub to heat yourself with logs, animals on site to visit. Farm gave us free entry with animal feed. Children loved this. Fab location to jump on train to London

Our only mishaps was the lights flickering often, the heating had a mind of its own would come on during the night, the shower had little pressure, the twin room beds looked like they had been slept in previously with bits in the bed and overall cleanliness wasn’t 100%
But I’m not one to complain, as a whole we had a wonderful time

Disliked Phone signal was poor. No wifi

Local attractions

There’s a lot of wildlife to spot around this part of the country. Whether it’s all the birds and dragonflies at Panshanger Park (10 minutes’ drive), the 30 acres of gardens at Capel Manor Gardens (20 minutes) or the scents of Benington Lordship Gardens (20 minutes) – also home to a popular chilli festival – there should be plenty to see around here. There are big cats, meerkats, penguins and plenty of other animals at Paradise Wildlife Park (15 minutes), but those of you who prefer to fill your itinerary with history and culture might want to take off to the Hertford Museum (five minutes) or Hatfield House (20 minutes), a fine example of a Jacobean house and garden. What else to pack into your stay? Perhaps the swimming pool and skatepark at Hartham Common (10 minutes)? A round of golf with the gang at Chadwell Springs Family Golf Centre (five minutes)? Or, for the more adventurous folks among you, the Lea Valley White Water Centre (20 minutes) runs canoeing and kayaking courses on the lake as well as intrepid whitewater rafting activities.
