Main entrance into the site

  • Peaceful, dog-friendly farm site two miles from Moreton-in-Marsh
  • A 10-minute drive to Sezincote Estate; half an hour to Blenheim Palace
  • Firepits for hire; Diddly Squat Farm Shop 15 minutes’ drive
Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

What customers say

Pebbly Barn Farm gets the thumbs up for its chill vibe, ace staff, and tidy facilities (dog park included!). Plenty of space to pick your spot, and it's a cracker base for exploring the Cotswolds. A few folks mentioned the stroll to amenities or tighter spots in peak season, but overall, a top recommendation.

Disliked Noisy and foul-mouthed neighbours !

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review and kind words about the site, facilities, and hosting, we really appreciate it.

We’re very sorry to hear your stay was affected by noisy neighbours. We work hard to keep Pebbly Barn Farm peaceful and relaxed for everyone, and we do ask guests to respect our quiet hours and be considerate of others around them. We also have a steward on site at all times, so guests are always welcome to let us know if there are any noise issues during their stay and we can step in to help.
Thankfully, this is quite rare for us, but we completely understand how it can affect the experience when it does happen.

We’re glad you still enjoyed the site overall, and we hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you back for a quieter and even more relaxing stay in the future.

Warm regards,
John & the Pebbly Barn Farm Team

Liked Such a lovely campsite! We stayed here for the bank holiday in fantastic weather. It was fairly busy but everyone was well spread out, it was super peaceful too. The washing/ toilet facilities were spotless! They were constantly being cleaned, bins emptied etc. we hired a fire pit & wood which was a great price and had more than enough logs.
Staff really friendly and welcoming. 100% recommend :) Will defo be back

From the manager: Thank you so much, Kasie! We’re delighted you and your family had such a great bank holiday stay with us, the sunshine certainly helped make it a special weekend.
It’s wonderful to hear that even with the site busy, it still felt peaceful and spacious. We work really hard to keep the facilities spotless throughout the day, so your kind comments about the cleaning and upkeep are hugely appreciated. Great to hear the fire pit package went down well too, there’s nothing better than ending the day around the fire on a warm evening.

Thank you as well for the lovely recommendation. We’ll be very happy to welcome you back to Pebbly Barn Farm again soon!

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Really lovely site with super friendly owners. Not the cheapest but clean and nicely set out. The site is a little out of the way so you’ll need a car if you want to eat out or go to a pub. We were quite content to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.

From the manager: Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re really pleased you enjoyed the peaceful setting, the clean layout of the site, and the friendly atmosphere. It’s lovely to hear you were happy simply sitting out and enjoying the sunshine, those slower countryside moments are what Pebbly Barn is all about.

We are tucked away a little, which many guests enjoy for the peace and quiet, but Moreton-in-Marsh and nearby pubs are only a short drive away when you fancy exploring further.

Thanks again for staying with us, and we’d love to welcome you back to Pebbly Barn Farm again soon.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked A very well maintained, spacious site. There is pride taken in making it clean and enjoyable for everyone. It is well respected by those using it too which makes a big difference! The toilet and shower facilities were great. A quiet site despite it being a busy, sunny bank holiday weekend. Family friendly. Had a lovely welcome on arrival and hosts were present yet discrete throughout. I am going to make this my new regular getaway! Walked into Moreton along the road and paths which takes about 40 minutes. Moreton has cafes, food shops and charity shops. Went to Batsford before arriving at the campsite which was a lovely stop too. This site is in the perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds.

Disliked There was nothing not to like.

Local attractions

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
