What customers say

Peaceful rural site, spacious pitches with hedges. Handy for River Severn walks & good village pub food. Clean facilities, though some want upgrades. Relaxed vibe, great value & surroundings. Watch out for farm noise & flies.

Liked We booked for 2 nights but due to the wonderful British weather only stayed 1 as getting the bell tent dry this time of year is a nightmare, our first impressions were how clean and well laid out it was, small hedges separate each pitch to give some privacy, the wash up facilities are perfectly adequate and the bathrooms are clean and free showers are a bonus. All in all for our grandsons first camping trip it ticked all the boxes. We will definitely be back

Liked Friendly owner . Relaxing, quiet site, in lovely surroundings.
Toilets and showers clean and modernised.
Loving the coffee and cake shop 😋 and really like the children’s play area to sit and have coffee to watch them play. So good I am returning this weekend with grand daughter !

Liked The entire area for us with a 7 year old was amazing. It was on/off grid on in the sense we had electric. Off grid due to unreliable data signal.

All the campers were so friendly, one couple even let my wife walk their dog! Thank you to the owners of Luca.

Power optional gravel caravan site

Liked Tranquil small site different areas for the hard standing to the grass and tent area. Good shower and loo facilities at one end. Water, disposal area for chemicals and assorted bins near our hardstanding. This was a trial run in our small caravan and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A short walk to the Severn and local pub, coffee shop. Delightful views and Slimbridge wetlands a short drive, well worth a visit.

Unpowered grass site

Liked Good location just outside the village, we visited The Red Lion pub twice, which was exceptional in terms of food and service. There are lots of really lovely walks all around the river and into the village. Look on The Red Lion’s website, where you can print off the walks before you arrive.

Disliked Nothing really. As others have said the toilets and showers could be cleaner, I never saw anyone clean the toilets over a 3 day period.
Not a dislike, but I don’t believe there is a shop in the village, so make sure you go with supplies or be prepared to drive out for shopping.

Power optional gravel caravan site

Liked In a lovely place, short walk to a good pub! I loved it was on a working farm.

Disliked I would not stay here again. Lack of response to check in, no campsite information given, couldn’t find the facilities at first as the promised message did not arrive, when we did find them there were not many of them (one toilet, one female and one male shower). Hate not having assigned pitch, we were too afraid to leave the site incase we lost the last hard standing with electric pitch we had paid for. Quiet hours until 11:30am tractors going past many hours earlier, while that didn’t bother me, it was very hypocritical!!

From M5, come off at Junction 13 and take the A38 towards Bristol. You will shortly see a garage on the left. Take the right turning signposted Frampton-on-Severn and continue to The Bell public house on the left. Pass through Frampton, continue straight over the canal bridge and go straight across (SP Arlingham and Fretherne). Do not follow the road to Saul. Continue for approximately 3 miles entering the village of Arlingham and turn left at Red Lion public house into Church Road. Pass the church on your right and West End Farm is on the right in about 250 yards.

Local attractions

West End Farm Campsite's local village is Arlingham, also in the River Severn's horseshoe bend and just off Junction 13 of the M5. The area around the village is fab walking and cycling land, of public footpaths, riverside ambles and flat peaceful roads – all set among the first-class scenery of the England/Wales border area. (Don't know where to start? Ask at the Red Lion for details of their hare, salmon, cattle and skylark wanders.) A couple of miles from the farm is the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, running between Sharpness and the old docks of Gloucester. It's a pleasant place to while away a few meandering hours, particularly around Patch Bridge, close to the Wildfowl Reserve at Slimbridge which has the world's biggest collection of captive wildfowl. Other local options are Berkeley and the Edward Jenner Museum, where the clever chap first figured out vaccination, and Berkeley Castle, where poor old Edward 2 met his grisly end. Gloucester Cathedral is nine miles from the site; a little further afield are the Norman castle of Goodrich and the Tudor National Trust-managed house of Newark Park.
