Great site, level pitch, excellent staff and will stay again
Unpowered concrete and grass site
Liked Nice little grass pitch for a nights stay.
We have a tentbox and had plenty of space as the site allows up to 4 pitches at a time. Has a cute honesty shop with cash and card option - only used cash but could see the card machine.
We ate in the pub & food was 10/10 excellent service and options.
The pitch being just off the pub carpark also means a cheeky cider or 2…
Ideal location for walks from site or a base overnight so a little closer for an early get up and go like myself.
Static caravan provided toilets and shower but didn’t use shower just toilet and sinks. Key code option to use pub toilets but didn’t feel like needed that as the caravan was fine.
Would stay here again and for the price you can’t not !
Nice to see fairly priced locations with facilities.
Disliked A little road noise once settled down but didn’t disturb over all just mentioning as road is close to the site, also a little noise from the pub again didn’t bother us background laughter and chatter wasn’t music or anything particularly loud and we did have the pitch closets to the pub but I do feel like you’d hear it if you was at the back of the pitch.
Again it’s not a major dislike just making people aware.

. Should be free if you use pub. Expensive for basic pitch.

Liked Great stay at the site. Cheap enough and facilities fine for the night. Good pub food next door but make sure to check your food bill before you leave !
Disliked Toilets very basic but it was cheap 😁

Disliked We’ve chosen the far right corner, there’s a pass between two fields, lots of pedestrians went up and down around our tent, slight discomfort to everyone.
There is an old caravan on site, facilities are in there. We found spotless toilets, but the sink in the ‘kitchen’ was dirty and all clogged up. I’ll keep rating to maximum, as other sites are charging more for less.

Loved it, I’ll be back soon!
Unpowered concrete and grass site
Liked Excellent small campsite, adjoining a lovely traditional country pub. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers both inside the pub, and in the static caravan alongside the pitches. I used the caravan facilities which were clean and free, with plenty of hot water. Perfect base for walking and cycling, with Castleton and Buxton nearby. Excellent food and beer in the pub, reasonably priced and generous helpings.

Liked The campsite was fine - only 4 pitches - facilities more than adequate. The little honesty shop is great but pricey.
Disliked There is can adjacent campsite and the users there walk through this site to get to the pub. Table service in the pub is disorganised.

Liked Foid in the pub. Really friendly staff.
Disliked Pub did not open at 10 am for breakfast as advertised. We waited until 1015 but had to leave.

Lovely small site behind a friendly country pub with excellent food.
Unpowered concrete and grass site
Liked Excellent dog-friendly pub, welcoming staff & locals and very tasty food. Breakfast is available from 10:00am, which was a bonus.
Toilet & shower facilities available 24/7 and there is a small shop on site selling everything from fresh vegetables to ice cream.
The camping field is well maintained and quite level, with plenty of space per pitch.
A great walking area with spectacular views of the Peak District.
Free wifi in the pub and camping field.
Disliked Some road noise at night, but not very frequent and not enough to spoil the experience.
