What customers say
A well-kept spot with great, modern loos, often noted as clean. Friendly staff are a hit! Ideal for Peak District exploring and a walk to Buxton. The main field's slope is a niggle for some. Farm shop and playground a plus.

Liked Amazing campsite.
The woman at reception was absolutely amazing, so kind and chatty. The toilets were always clean and there was plenty of them. Park onsite. The farm shop is also worth a look. I previously read a review complaining about not being allowed music, however, I did not experience this issue. Very laidback with the rules which I did not expect having read the rules. Probably the nicest and cleanest facilities I’ve ever seen when camping. Also, is very close to the town making it a nice walk or a very quick drive.
Disliked Very little to say. The main thing I did not like was being asked what sized tent I was bringing and being told a max of 3m x 3m. This was not an issue when i arrived on site but almost made us not book this campsite as my tent is bigger than the max size. I also think it would’ve been nice if there were bbqs/campfires you could borrow.

Liked Toilets and showers were clean and well kept. Campsite was quiet overnight. Close to Buxton town centre. Close to many Peak District sights and hikes. Staff on sight were friendly. Nice view of the aqueduct and gorgeous sunsets.
Disliked Camping field was a pretty steep hill.

Unpowered grass tent site (six person)
Liked Great facilities, lovely staff, the toilets were very clean, and radio on all of the time, which was a nice touch! The park was fab. Lovely games room and laundry. Some nice pitches. A farm shop attached was amazing! Loads of local info. Lovely views and position.
Disliked The free for all pitches meant that when we arrived it was hard to pitch due to others strange pitching choices!
Also we couldn't work out how to access the baby change/disabled toilet

Liked Lovely receptionist. Pizza van on the Friday night and cake stall on Saturday. On the right side of the tenting field, lovely view of the bridge. Had a paraglider above us for some of our stay too. Really good facilities on site, very clean. Morrisons s short walk from site, and the walk to Buxton centre about 20 minutes.

Liked Really great, reception staff and ground keepers were really friendly. As a group of teenagers I was slightly worried before we arrived that we would be judge due to stereotypes but everyone was really lovely and we had a fantastic time. If you're wanting a fun camping trip with friends I definitely recommend this place. We arrived on a Wednesday and it was very quiet. By Friday the field had filled up but everyone there was very friendly and this even led to us making new friends. The toilet and shower block was very clean. We have absolutely no complaints about our stay!

We stayed in a camping pod…
Camping pod
Liked We stayed in a camping pod for the first time, normally we tent camp. Was given a key to for our pod to lock and unlock and a code for the toilet/ shower block. The pod was a Great size and space for myself and my son.
We Parked the car on the gravel in front of the pod. Bench was also outside the pod for us to use. Nice little grass space at the side for small play.
Inside there was Plenty of plug sockets, the sofa/pull out bed was comfy to sit on, the supplied fridge kept our food cold, there was a heater supplied to plug in if it got cold which we did use even with the day time heat as at night was a little chilly.
Both doors to the pod open fully as well as a little window at the back of the pod.
Camping pods are a 1 min walk away from the toilet/shower block and the sinks for washing up your pots. Lovely little farm shop and great walking routes to explore.
The playground on site is small but my son (& his friend) loved it; swings, wooden climbing frame and a general play structure. The whole site was very clean, never saw rubbish on the floors. We saw the maintenance crew collecting the communal bins several times a day & the team doing their rounds to ensure safety.
Pool table was also available for 50p a game, small games room so had to wait an hour or so for it to become free to play pool but the room was lovely and cool, nice book shelf and toilet also in the room.
Ladies at the reception desk were so very lovely and made us feel welcome upon our arrival and departure!
Disliked The pod was clean overall but when I looked closer, the corners and sides of the floors had thick dirt and cobwebs. I pulled out the sofa bed to ensure my son hadn’t left any toys or any had been kicked under and there was old wrappers and general rubbish underneath it (not from us)
I’m not sure if the pods are fully deep cleaned between bookings?! Luckily I bought antibacterial wipes and spray with us so I did my own deep clean surfaces wise and bed frame wise before we fully unpacked on arrival.
I would advise to bring a thick double mattress topper as we felt every spring in the mattress. We unfortunately only had a normal double fitted sheet.
