  • Set among 20 acres of pastureland
  • Spectacular views over Dovedale and Thorpe Cloud
  • Peak District National Park within easy reach
There’s absolutely nothing common about the small and secluded Derbyshire site of Common End Farm: well maintained with helpful staff and views you won’t want to leave behind are just a couple of its perks. This very green site is set among 20 acres of pastureland, to sort old-style camping stays with modern and well-kept amenities. The site’s traditional stone barn has been transformed into a free shower and toilet block (separated into male and female amenities), but retained to fit into its rural surroundings. Hairdryers and electric sockets are provided in both the ladies' and the gents' blocks. Also available on site are drinking water taps, designated refuse areas and a chemical disposal point (green fluid only please; you can buy this on site). The friendly site owners have gone to the trouble of filling reception with info-filled noticeboards to help you on your stay; walkers and hikers can explore the southern Peak District National Park, while eats and drinks can be sorted after a hard day uphill (and down again) at the local pub, 300 metres away.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Lovely couple who where running the site.
Amenities where first class, well organised and always clean.
The pitches where smooth and level and very spacious so plenty of room for children to play, also dog friendly with a dog walk area.Showers and toilets where excellent and pot cleaning area spotless.
Another visit is already being planned asap.
Camp fires where allowed along with barbecuesfor a small charge for 'fire baskets and logs.
Sorry, unsure about wi-fi didnt need it.

Disliked There was nothing to dislike, but for us a pub is also a good addition but there was not really a pub, more like a restaurant for occasions, but it was nice and friendly with a great sunken beer garden and top play area only 15 mins walk from site.

Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked When we arrived the current site warden was there to greet us, he was very friendly, welcoming and informative. We later met his wife, the second sire warden and she was warm and always happy to help. They’re both a credit to the site. Thank you.

The site itself is well maintained with good facilities. It is in a beautiful spot with beautiful views from the self proclaimed ‘pretty field’.

Family and dog friendly. Designated dog walking field was a bonus.

Will definitely come back.

Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked Security access, a friendly welcome by the site managers. The site is well positioned with magnificent views of the Peak hills and the Derwent and Dove vallies. Well look after, amenities very good, shower block/toilet/wash room clean and tidy. We were only there one night but i would rate it very highly and will be back for a longer stay to take the many walks linked to the site.

Disliked There is nothing to dislike at this time.

Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked We loved our stay at the common end farm and would recommend it to others. Everyone was very welcoming and always happy to help.
The facilities block (showers, toilets and Pot wash) was very clean. At the reception area where you check in, they sell snacks, drinks and other essential items.
Depending on the weather 🌦️, you can rent a fire pit for a reasonable price. We absolutely loved our stay and we would go back.
