  • Well-equipped Derbyshire touring site with easy access from the A517
  • A 10-minute drive to Ashbourne and the edge of the Peak District
  • Dog-friendly site a mile from Hulland Ward's village pub and farm shop
Parking up for the Peak District to flit between limestone valleys, pretty villages and green peaks? Take your kit to Ashbourne Touring and Camping Park, a well-equipped site in a handy spot just off the A517, a mile from the village of Hulland Ward. Easy access from the main road means it’s nice and straightforward to get set up at this Derbyshire site – and that location also means you’ll be handily close to the village’s pub and farm shop (a useful source of supplies for your barbecue back at base). Bus services from the stop just outside can take you to Ashbourne's cobbled streets and weekly open-air market – or, alternatively, drive yourself over there in about 10 minutes. In fact, everything here has been designed to make life nice and easy for guests, with well-kept, ample toilet and shower facilities, a chemical disposal area and a washing-up area provided. And if you can't bear the thought of leaving a faithful furry companion behind, good news – dogs are welcome to join you on site as long as they're well-behaved. You'll probably want to plan lots of days out around the area. The edge of the Peak District National Park is about 10 minutes' drive away, as is the start of the traffic-free Tissington Trail, so you'll be in a good position for getting out to explore the lovely landscapes. And there are plenty of other attractions around too, including Alton Towers and the grand Chatsworth Estate.

What customers say

Awesome spot! Clean, quiet, spacious sites. Top-notch facilities. Great for exploring, but Wi-Fi's iffy and the pub walk's a bit dicey. Dog/kid-friendly though!

Liked We had a lovely time here, very peaceful. Lots of birds singing in the morning.
Bit of a dead spot signal wise we were on Tesco and O2 but this didn’t bother us.
Toilets and showers were clean.
As others have put not really walkable to the pub with children as there’s no pavement. But it’s 3 mins in the car.

Liked A lovely site for families and couples, well run with no silly rules, lovely dog walk and play area for the children, clean tidy toilets and showers, push button showers no temperature control that some people might find a little on the hot side.

Liked Easy to find, quiet site with all amenities as expected.
The email on the morning was a nice touch to explain it was a self check in with great directions on the board re where to pitch.
Toilets were always of a reasonable standard and always plenty of hot water for showers and to wash up.
