Alton, Hampshire, England
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Site had everything you wanted and is only a few minutes away from Alton for essentials.
Chickens wandering around, long evenings.. perfect
Disliked Some of the campers let their children run all over other people’s pitches - I don’t mind children playing but sitting on your pitch screaming at each other is a little off putting

Littlewood non-electric forest floor tent pitch (wild)
Liked A basic site with good communications and good directions to find. I chose the woodland (mainly due to it being in the midst of a 40C heatwave) which was perfect.
Disliked Being nature there were quite a few wasps etc, but more here than I'd seen elsewhere on my travels. The shower and site ran out of water every day during my stay in the morning and once in the evening, it does get pumped back up fairly quickly and I suspect was more to the heat than an issue on the site.

Buxton, Derbyshire, England
Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Despite the horrendous weather the site was maintained well, the owners had done everything they could to mitigate the bad wrather. Toilet blocks and showers are always spotless, the WiFi payg arrangement works well and we could easily run four devices on it. Their range of tourist information is very extensive - plus they sell luxury icecream. Location is good for travel to Buxton, Nottingham and Derby and all around the peak district and is only a few miles from various bike trails such as the Monsal and Tissington routes.
Disliked Nothing really - better weather would have been good!

Buxton, Derbyshire, England
Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Site is clean and tidy and nearly every pitch has its own fresh water tap and gray water disposal, loads of leaflets for places to visit in the central wash block area with nice under floor heating. Showers are free and lovely and warm to. Locally made ice cream is expensive but to die for..
Disliked Nothing really - sat Nav route is a narrow winding single track lane but there is a easier route.

Electric grass pitch
Liked The site is nicely laid out, very spacious with natural ponds (with ducks) and very well presented.
Toilets are cleaned regularly (being a camper that's very important!!) and have excellent childrens play equipment as well as a mini football pitch.
Site is about 4 miles from the East Midlands Safari and Leisure Park, and 5 miles from the Wyre Go Ape - both of which are superb for a day out. About 25 miles from all of the Birmingham attractions (ThinkTank, Cadbury World, Black Country Musuem) which makes it an ideal location for exploring the Midlands.
Disliked A couple of nights we had some rowdy campers which we feel could have been handled slightly better but otherwise none.

From the manager: We are pleased that you have taken the time to write the review, and hope the rowdy campers have not put you off having another stay with us.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Free showers with HOT water, and powerful to.
Great location for excursions into Wales (Welshpool is 12 miles away) or to head to the Midlands (Ironbridge is 30 minutes, and East Midlands Safari Park an hour away)
Great views of the countryside and walks along the river
Disliked No shop on site, and nearest shop a few miles away
Not clear on arrival where you needed to book in
Washroom is clean but needs refreshing.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch
Liked Very near to all the things we wanted to do, the sea front and a nice pub is a short walk away. Pitches are large and you are free to site the caravan wherever you want, 16amp supply is always a good touch as it means there isn't much of a chance to trip the breaker.
Showers are 20p but you get a good long HOT shower for that,
Disliked At peak season could seriously do with another washblock and shower area as the queue in the mornings from about 9.30 to 11.00 was sometimes six deep,

From the manager: Thank you for your comments. I am glad you made the most of our location, the short walk to the sea front is enjoyed time and time again. The “20p for a shower” helps to keep any queue as short as practicable. Kind regards Andrew
