Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch
Liked We visited last year and came back again this year and booked already for next year! Nic & Adam are a lovely, welcoming and a friendly couple who are always available if needed. The site is the perfect size with 8 pitches. Apart from the roadworks this year, which we were advised about, it’s a very peaceful site with stunning views. It’s a great base for travelling around Dorset or just popping to the local village. There is a pub a short walk away down the far side of the sheep field through the gate, an information shed with necessities you may have ran out of. It is great for dogs. Love it

Electric gravel touring pitch (small)
Liked We have stayed 3 times now. Lovely small campsite at the rear of the pub. Very clean and tidy. Had several meals in the pub and dog friendly too. The food had always been exceptional. The road behind can be quite busy but doesn’t bother us and we are only around in the late afternoon and evening.
Disliked Agree with comments regarding the shower facilities. Could do with updating and maybe have two as if the campsite is full, one toilet and shower is not adequate.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Beautiful site, large well maintained pitch. Very clean facilities. Friendly staff. The bonus of freshly baked pizza and chips was great after travelling and setting up! The same goes for the yummy breakfast rolls on departure. Lovely area and stunning scenery around. Will definitely visit again
Disliked Nothing to moan about. The lane through to the site is narrow and some of the roads around are single track so make sure you take a caravan friendly route

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked The staff were lovely and very accommodating with our autistic son. The food was nice too. The pitch size was ample.
Disliked On arrival the site looked run down and needed a lot of tlc. It would’ve have made a difference if the grass had been cut and pitches tidied. The portable toilet I did not use as it was not clean and glad we took our own as when the pub closed, there were no other facilities. It could be a nice site which is a shame.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Good location for some nice walks and stop off on the way to and from the coast. Clean site and friendly staff. We had a grass touring pitch but found with two campervans with awnings it was a bit cramped. Next time we would go for a large hard standing pitch. The pub was very clean and nice for a cheeky beer. We had an evening meal which was ok but no coffee at breakfast as the machine was broken and a bit of a wait for it to arrive. We were lucky to have lovely neighbours next to us and opposite and enjoyed lots of relaxing chats outside and dogs playing together.
Disliked Just the pitch size was a little bit too small for 2 vans with awnings

From the manager: Thank you for your review. I just wanted to add for people that book in the future, our pitch size is 5m x 8m at the maximum and when booking you need to take into consideration the size of your awnings as well as your unit size. Our XL pitches are great for larger vehicles and set ups.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Beautiful surroundings and generous pitch size. Very clean and well maintained. A lovely warm welcome from the host and added cuddles with dogs and sheep! A perfect location to visit our favourite places nearby. Nice walks and a lovely pub close by. The road noise didn’t bother us at all as we were out all day and it quietened down in the evening. Nice people camping too appreciating the quiet adult site. The little information hut was very handy for bits and bobs.

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Everything! We stayed in a few campsites during our stay in North France and this was by far the best. Knowledgeable host to greet on the desk with a sense of humour. Great size pitches. Had taken note of a disabled request and so we had a pitch right by the immaculate toilet and shower block. For once the disabled toilets and shower were just as good as the able bodied ones. The swimming pools were a great size, very clean and lots of sun loungers for everyone. Not too far from lovely little villages, supermarkets and shopping centre. So many activities for families. We just wished we had stayed there longer and not booked the other sites.

Electric optional grass and earth pitch
Liked It was a nice site with all the facilities required. Pitches were a good size and private. Staff were friendly. For us with a disabled son, there was a disabled swim 10-11 every morning.
Disliked However, the toilet blocks were not the cleanest and we had a separate toilet block opposite us which never had hand wash, toilet roll or seemed to be cleaned. So glad we took our own toilet tent! The pool wasn’t as big as it looked and the toilet area around there wasn’t very clean either

Electric optional grass touring pitch
Liked Very clean and well maintained. Showers and toilets were also very clean. Restaurant on site and close to supermarkets
Disliked Having a disabled young person, the disabled shower and toilet were not as up to date as the main ones unfortunately and having to keep a hand on the shower button whilst showering was not ideal. Needs updating

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)
Liked We stayed for 3 nights. The campsite is in beautiful surroundings and the site itself was well maintained. Good size pitch for our campervan and awning. The Thames Head Inn provided delicious meals and the staff were very welcoming.
Disliked The toilet and shower facilities really need attention and would make this site perfect. We had our own toilet but found the shower room with the toilet in it dated and small. If the site is full and you want to shower then you have to wait and it gets very messy. The refuge area needs a good cleaning too. Also we had very late arrivals next to us and for the last two nights very noisy neighbours early in the morning 4am. No monitoring here
