Liked Very peaceful, great walks across fields from the campsite. Loved the local pub great food and friendly locals. No frills, lots of space per pitch allocated

Liked What a lovely place Parkfarm is. We stayed en route to a weekend in Bristol city centre, and kind of wished we had stayed on the farm instead. The farm and campsite is run as an organic and sustainable venture in every way. We enjoyed the way this showed in every single consideration, from the immaculately kept composting and wash up facilities, to the way the family has carefully curated the views in the tree line from the camp field across the valley beyond. Loads of space between pitches, each one with its own fire pit. The only sounds the cattle coming in for milking, and the buzzing bees enjoying the wild hedgerows. We enjoyed fresh eggs from the happy chickens and jam made from the foraged fruits that grow locally. Everyone we shared the site with were clearly there for the nature, the great walks and blissful peace and the family has provided lots of information about the farm, sustainability, and maps of the walks to ensure we could all enjoy them. This is 100% our favourite site we have found, there is so much kindness being offered to people, animals and nature. Left with a feeling that in the hands of this family, the countryside will continue to be looked after for centuries to come. Thank you X

Liked Lovely quiet scenic site. Bird song as the sun goes down is deafeningly beautiful. Local pub super easy to find at the end of a lovely short walk through fields. If you are after peace, darkness and nature this site is perfect. The site was full when we stayed, but its the kind of site where everyone appreciates the same thing, walks, nature, keeping quiet :-). Brigette the owner was very friendly helpful and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and we will re-book soon.

Disliked Not clear how to recycle / separate rubbish for recycling, so we just bought ours home. Different councils have different rules so understandable if the facilities aren't available locally, but if they are it would be good to be able to contribute where we can. This isn't 'dislike' only a suggestion

From the manager: Hi Jemima, we completely agree regarding the recycling and have tried many ways over the years to encourage guests to recycle. Sadly many just won't. Someone almost daily empties their van bin contents not even in a bag into our bins mixing glass, food and things you cannot begin to imagine! Truly, you couldn't make it up! We do have separate glass bins and we pull out as much as we can of the mixed rubbish where we safely can. Aside from that I am so pleased you had a lovely relaxing stay and would be delighted to welcome you back to see us soon.
