Great hosts, quiet, safe location and has everything you need.

Liked Stayed here with my 2 sons (13 and 10) for 2 nights, as we were mountain biking in the Forest of Dean (which is brilliant, by the way!). Great location for us, as only 10 minutes from the Cycle Centre. Hosts were very welcoming and everything was clean and set up for us. In reality, we didn’t need to take anything, as the kitchen has everything you need, including a cool box with ice packs for storing fridge stuff. We hired a barbecue for the 2nd night to cook outdoors, charcoal provided too. Quiet location, only 2 tents and we had the far one, everything we needed in there and a picnic bench outside. Met the alpacas, who are very friendly and saw plenty of rabbits too! Nice to have your own portaloo, the shower was great (and warm!) and it felt like a safe location, left the bikes locked up in the back of our pick-up on the drive overnight. Didn’t explore the area on foot, as we were cycling for the 3 days. Cinderford is 10 minutes away, which has a handy Lidl and Indian takeaways but didn’t see much else (maybe it has but didn’t need anything whilst we were there). Easy camping, as it’s a really well equipped site and a quiet area 👍

Disliked The beds weren’t the best in the tent we had (and I know it’s camping!) and maybe it’s just us but 2 nights was our limit.

Liked Great location from which to explore the New Forest. Excellent facilities, hot showers, clean toilets, fridge and plugs in reception and lovely staff. Great size pitches and you can hire a fire pit and buy logs etc. to cook on. Tom even does a log run round the site in the evening which was handy and a nice touch! Just for info, no wifi but got 4G ok. There are some great walks all around (Godshill Inclosure is v close and lovely) and bike hire places (which we did from Brockenhurst) to explore and the route we took was 90% off road. Saw loads of wild ponies and some donkeys and deer too! We used a local-ish Tesco Express for food supplies which just about did us for 4 nights.

Disliked Ground a bit hard in places to get tent pegs in, as it’s a bit stony under the surface, so a mallet is useful to take.
