Milnthorpe, Cumbria, England
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (water view)
Liked Stunning views. Friendly welcome. Lots of space. Amazing historic barn and chilled bar. Peace and quiet.
Disliked Showers were cold (I discovered the gas had been turned off afterwards, but this should be clearly labelled as needing to be turned on for the showers to work). Nowhere practical to hang stuff. A shelf/seat and a few hooks would be great.
The designated toilets were a nice idea, but basic. Extra saw dust to cover the waste each time would be good, plus hand sanitiser.
Couldn't find a water tap, so had to use washing up sink, so clearly marked water point/s would be great too.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and for bringing these bits to our attention. We have now rectified these bits and are in the process of clearly sign posting things. As for the gas in the showers I can only apologise we had turned on the gas but another camper had turned it off after use. Other than that we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to you visiting us again.

Carlisle, Cumbria, England
Non-electric grass and gravel motorhome pitch
Liked Nothing
Disliked We were unable to make it to the campsite and tried to cancel, but when we rang the number cited on the listing a rude, unhelpful woman answered who immediately snapped it was the wrong number. When I explained our situation she sneeringly replied, 'Attention to details sorts the men from the boys.' Well, sort your listing out and make sure the right number is included. Glad we didn't make it. The portaloos didn't sound very enticing.
