Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales
Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Apart from the motorway noise the site is peaceful with horses in the adjoining paddock. The toilets were very clean. There were showers available but they were on the caravan site just down the hill so we used our own facilities. It's ideal for a stopover but I wouldn't stay longer.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Lovely pitches in the orchard. Quirky facilities block in a converted pig sty. Excellent range of ciders in the shop. Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch in the restaurant.

York, North Yorkshire, England
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch
Liked The pitches are very spacious each with hook up and water. The site is set well back from the road so was very quiet. We found the cows to be very entertaining on their perambulations around the adjoining fields! There is a bus stop not far from the farm gate for a frequent service into York although at times it is standing room only.

Primrose electric grass pitch
Liked Level pitches.
Good location.
Good security.
Friendly helpful staff.
Disliked Vehicle access was very rough.
Insufficient toilets and showers if the site is busy.
Toilets and showers are some considerable distance from the touring field.
Noisy water pump day and night in the redundant toilet and shower block next to the touring field.
Grey waste disposal was straight into a drainage ditch alongside the field.
Over priced for the facilities available.

New Quay, Ceredigion, Wales
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The pitches are reasonably level and are part gravel, part grass. The shared facilities are all spotlessly clean and well maintained. The shower cubicles are spacious and with dinner plate sized shower heads! The water is always piping hot. It's a 15 minute walk to the beach along a quiet country lane. There is an hourly bus service that runs between Aberystwyth and Cardigan if you don't want to drive everywhere.
Disliked The push button showers are set for approximately 5 seconds which is not ideal for washing long hair.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked Gravel pitches, no mud or grass in the van.
Large, reasonably level pitches.
Everything included in the price, no extras for awnings, dogs, etc.
Quiet.
Close to public transport links.
Walks and cycle trails from campsite.
Farm produce for sale in an honesty box hut.
Disliked We liked the gravel pitch for winter but feel that it would not be so nice for sitting out in the summer.

Welshpool, Powys, Wales
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Level site, easy to get tent pegs in. Pitch anywhere you like around the edge of the field but be aware that the centre is a football pitch (there was a game on the Thursday evening). The covered outdoor seating area behind the pub is available for campers and the catering kitchen behind is available for washing up. The pub serves food and reasonably priced drinks. The owner of the village shop and Post Office is very friendly and helpful. There is a regular bus to Welshpool about 15 minutes away. There are plenty of walks straight from the campsite.
Disliked The toilet and shower block needs some maintenance and could do with regular cleaning.
