  • Cooking classes of typical Peruvian dishes available
The campsite Cola de Mono is ideally located two kilometres from the village of Santa Teresa right at the edge of the jungle nearby Rio Sacsara. Cocalmayo thermal waters are only 10 minutes away and Machu Picchu is at 15km, meanwhile Llactapata is located 40 minutes from the campsite. It's really an excellent location to explore the region. On site, you'll find an outdoor pool and spectacular views on the valley and the river Sacsara. The reception service is available 24/7 in case you need anything. You'll find a garden, a barbecue area, a games room, a tourist information office and a laundry service. You'll be completely immersed in nature, so we are afraid, there is no internet connection. You'll be certainly glad to learn that the staff speaks several languages at reception including Portuguese, French, Spanish and English. To enjoy a good meal and have some drinks, you can go to Chola y Che, the on-site restaurant with a different concept including à la carte meals but also a setting and a way of working based on self-sustainability and environment protection: as a result dishes are made with a myriad of local products and some from the organic vegetable garden. You'll find a lounge al fresco with views over the river, mountains and a luxuriant and endless vegetation. Guests can take cooking classes in the restaurant, enjoying time in the kitchen learning new recipes. At Cola de Mono you'll also find the first zipline built in Peru with more than eight years of experience organizing journeys. Other popular activities include hiking and trekking. There's a bus stop and a train station respectively 9,2 km and 9,5 km of the campsite.
