  • Peaceful family site on Lake Annecy, surrounded by mountains
  • Windsurfing, paragliding, hang gliding and canyoning all nearby
  • Direct access to a public beach with waterski, kayak and pedalo rental
Ooh la la, the lakeside setting of Camping Le Lanfonnet is most magnifique. And this is not just any old lake – non, Lake Annecy is a veritable gem. The third largest in France, its clear waters are fed in by mountain streams to make up one of Europe’s cleanest lakes. Clearly, one must allow plenty of time for watery and waterside hours and hours, but there’s loads more to fill your days around here. A beach is a couple of minutes’ amble away from the site and two more lie within a 20-minute walk, for sunbathing days, canoeing, paddleboarding, scuba diving and heaps more. The site is well set up for activities too, with table tennis, table football, pétanque and a playground, as well as a TV room to retreat to for indoor times, and a bar-restaurant to fully investigate for local grub. Pick up essentials at the site grocery store in summer; at other times and for more shops, take a 20-minute stroll along the lakeside path to reach local village Talloires. A miniature golf course and tennis courts are up here too, and it’s the starting point for some great hiking and bike trails up into the hills. Restaurants and cafés are in the village and all along the lake shore for essential coffee and croissant pitstops or for a glass of vin with a view.

What customers say

Grand spot by the lake, easy to get to the water and cycle trails. Staff are sound, pitches are good and roomy with shade. Facilities clean but a bit old-fashioned. Shop and local grub are a hit. Apart from a bit of bother with Wi-Fi and electric for a few, the location is top-notch. Highly recommend it.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Fabulous in every way! Location is brilliant. You’re close to the no. 20 bus stop which will take you around the lake and to Annecy. A two minute walk to the dock to pick up the boat which also takes you around the lake and to Annecy. Very friendly campsite, quiet, great pitches with water and electric. Very clean showers, toilets and washing facilities. A little shop and various good restaurants within easy walking distance. Selection of beaches very close. A great find. We will be back.

Liked Location is good. Short walk to lake. Staff were very friendly.

Disliked Water in showers was lukewarm / tepid. No lights in dishwashing area / some of the toilets and showers so take a head torch.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked This was a super location, right on the edge of Lake Annecy, with access to cycle paths, swimming and water sports. The staff were friendly, especially the guy in the little shop. Facilities were reasonably clean, and functional.

Disliked Check-in process could be updated.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Absolutely nothing about this camp site

Disliked The pitches were crammed in like sardines,
The showers were disgustingly dirty. The disabled bathroom had no working lights, the shower hose was split , my wife is classed as disabled
The washing up area was dirty.
The toilets were unclean. There is not much around the area.
Very disappointed with the whole experience.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hello,

We regret that your stay did not meet your expectations.
You pointed out several unclean areas, and we would have liked to have been able to discuss this with you.
Why didn't you come directly to our reception desk so we could see and take action if necessary?
Maintenance is carried out daily, but unfortunately, we sometimes observe disrespectful behavior that undermines our efforts. We are particularly vigilant and we issue reminders. We regret a certain lack of etiquette and courtesy in society. Our team does its best to satisfy you and provide comfort.

Regarding the shower hose you mentioned, it appears that a temporary repair was made after inspection. We will follow up with our team on this matter. We are concerned that this area, which is available to people with disabilities, can enjoy it peacefully.
Electrical work was carried out, which appears to have disrupted the power supply to this area. We understand your dissatisfaction and offer our sincere apologies. We would have liked to work together to resolve this issue during your stay.

There are many activities available through external service providers in the surrounding area (biking, pedal boating, canyoning, hiking, museum visits, first flights, boat tours, pedal boats...). Our campsite aims to be simple and natural, with a view to preserving the camping spirit.

It's very busy in August, and the pitches are between 60 and 80 meters apart. The cable that was run through your pitch is a complete misunderstanding that shouldn't have happened.
The electrical boundary is demarcated for a certain number of pitches.
It's a shame you didn't come to our reception to call this camper to order, which we always do when this happens.

Sinceres apologies

Best regards

Moesten i.

Liked Brilliant location right near the lake, good shop and offer fresh bread on the morning - shop staff was very polite. A lot of toilets and showers, considering they were dated they’re clean and well maintained.

Disliked Had to wait until 9am till we could leave and we had to get on the road for our trip - mistake on our part but nevertheless quite annoying when you need your passport back.

Liked Helpful and friendly staff,
Location near a lovely municipal beach, lakeside, cycle path, short walk to next village
Great little restaurant owned by the cafe
Good facilities...hot showers
Onsite shop for basics, croissants and bread
Old school french feel, no modern nonsense

Disliked No lights in male showers and toilets!
Electrics kept tripping in the rain

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hello,

We have received your feedback and we're happy that you enjoy your stay.
We would like to remind you that the campsite has a specific amperage rating for each connection, which is supported for a specific number of pitches. When these ratings are not respected, this results in untimely power outages.
In wet weather, overconsumption for various equipment tends to occur.

Liked Myself and 2 sons totally enjoyed our 3 day stay here, weather was great, Lake perfect and campsite staff helpful. The restaurant across the road is good too. Facilities are all fine aswell. Location is outstanding with direct lake access. We will be back.

Disliked The only negative was a theft from my neighbouring camper, he had a very expensive electric mountain bike stolen during the day. The campsite is practically open to the public and is a busy area, so lock up anything of value well.

Local attractions

Several hiking and cycling trails around the lake start from Talloires village – a popular route from here is the hour-long walk up to the Cascade d’Angon waterfall. To get to other walks in the area, such as those in the Bout du Lac natural reserve, take the car (20 minutes to the nature reserve) or pick up the bus or boat services running all around the lake. On the hillside above the village is the medieval Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, where you can take a guided tour of some of its 100 rooms; pick from a traditional guided tour or one run by costumed actors to help fire up the kids’ imaginations. It’ll take you 15 minutes or so to drive up there or just over an hour to hike up. Watersports galore make the most of the gorgeous lake waters – just next to the site are waterskiing, wakeboarding and windsurfing lessons and canoes and sailing boats for hire, and up in Talloires are a paddleboarding school and a scuba diving centre. If you’d like to combine your watery pursuits and mountain exploration, sign up for a canyoning trip from the adventure sports centre a couple of minutes’ walk from the site. Adrenaline junkies with an eye for a great view can fly over the lake on a paragliding flight from just outside Talloires; meanwhile, those of a gentler persuasion might prefer a round of golf at Lake Annecy Golf Course, 10 minutes away. The handsome old town of Annecy is half an hour's drive away.
