There's wine in the name of this resort. And it's in France. These two facts are oh so surely related, because fab Domaine La Yole Camping Resort and Spa in the Hérault department is on a French wine estate with tastings and tours and hikes available – on a 110-hectare winery where you'll be sampling local oysters on your wine tasting session too.
However. The La Yole team wisely states this isn't just a campsite (or indeed just a winery). This peaceful family place is a campsite, a winery, a pool complex and an animal farm all in one, and all set a kilometre or so from the wide sandy beach of Valras Plage for yet more scenic and sunny outdoor days.
All ages are excellently catered for on site, with a wide range of activities for ages five to 17, and a games zone in a glittering funfair atmosphere with go-kart track, miniature golf and loads more (if you're feeling particularly brave, volunteer your courageous self to be pinged up in the air via the giant catapult). Activities and entertainment of all sorts run from morning to night for grownups too.
Take to the huge 1,000m² waterpark too for swims out of doors or under cover, or you could have a massage at the resort wellness centre, top up your tan, or get your hair snipped and your scalp massaged at the hairdressing salon...
Food? There are bistro, grill and seafood dishes at the farm restaurant; catches of the day at Le Comptoir des Saveurs restaurant; a snack bar for light bites, and – how fab – paella, salads, meat, fish and more available from the catering service.

Local attractions
If you ever get off the resort (quite frankly it's doubtful), the Mediterranean beaches and watersports of Valras Plage and Vendres Plage are only a kilometre away. Horse riding, golf, Aqualand waterpark and more Languedoc-Roussillon vineyards are easily reached from here too: ask the friendly site team for recommendations.
Boat rides, canalside walks and following the Tour de France route by bike can all be sorted at the famed and UNESCO-listed Canal du Midi, on its 240-kilometre route through green French countryside. Or you could investigate the several Cathar castles in the region, or delve into more French history with a look at the medieval fort of Carcassonne.
For more beach days, as well as diving, boat tours, swish shops and restaurants, it's about half an hour by car from the resort to the famed seaside resort of Cap d'Agde.
