  • Small and peaceful Carmarthenshire five minutes' drive from Pencader
  • Brechfa Forest 10 minutes' drive; 35 minutes to the coast
  • Dog-friendly site with easy access from the A485
If you’re dreaming of a peaceful place to stay surrounded by some stunning scenery… well, Field of Dreams Wales could be the place to make it all come true. This sweet little site is tucked away in the Carmarthenshire hills about two miles from the village of Pencader, and it centres around a 2,5-acre camping field where guest numbers are kept low to ensure everyone has plenty of peace and space to relax. Dogs are welcome to join you for stays here too. This is a thoroughly rural location, with a lake on site and gorgeous country views all around, but it’s easy to get to as the A485 passes close by. And while you’re no doubt here to soak up the serenity that comes from being well away from everyday life, it’s handy to know that you’re still within a few minutes’ drive of a convenience store, a bakery and a fish and chip shop in the village. In fact this is a great location for quiet nights interspersed with days out – both Cardigan bay (to the north) and Carmarthen Bay (to the south) are within 40 minutes’ drive, and there’s also much to explore at the likes of Brechfa Forest and the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Back at base, the facilities have been designed by site owners who’ve done many camping and glamping trips themselves and therefore have a good idea of what guests want. That means the cheerful, spacious bathroom block has separate ladies’ and gents’ toilets, and there’s also a shared firepit with cooking tripod (and a washing-up area to help you deal with your dishes).

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Amazing place, so peaceful and tranquil. Fabulous facilities and spotlessly clean. John was so helpful and friendly, advising us of where to go. Honey (our dog) had the best time exploring the field and saying hello to everyone that walked past our tent. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Nice little campsite.

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Great campsite with excellent facilities. We were only staying for a couple of nights but the large communal fridge was a great addition.
It was unfortunately awful weather during our visit but the outside cooking area would be great during the summer.

The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate.

Surroundings were lovely, including Billy the duck and the hosts could not have been more accommodating, even fetching an electric hookup extension for us. Would recommend!

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked We had the most amazing stay here!
The friendliest and most accommodating hosts, and made our 4 year old son feel so special.
The showers and toilets were 10/10, so clean.
Such a beautiful location, waking up to the birds and the sheep was the best. As was the sunset, we loved sitting outside, with a drink, watching the beautiful sunset.
There were lovely walks, and beaches a short drive away, and the hosts were very knowledgeable on the best places to go.

Thank you for the best stay. We'll definitely be back!

Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Well organised, nice open pitches, very accommodating hosts, our kettle fuse blew and John sorted us out with a new one. He was also on hand with suggested places to go. Clean facilities and fridges to store food and drink.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Loved everything! Very peaceful, the cleanest toilets I've ever seen for a campsite and I'd consider us seasoned campers! Lovely extras like a pizza oven and cooking area. Very welcoming owners and even gave us a sneak peak of the boat house which we will be planning to stay at night year. Gorgeous!

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked We loved the fact that there weren't many other people camping in the same field, so we could enjoy the views of the lake and it was pretty quiet.
Our little cocker spaniel absolutely loved waking up in the field.
Since we were two couples travelling with two separate tents, we had to book 2 pitches, but we were able to set up camp together.
The owners are lovely and very reasonable.
The showers and toilets are clean and the decorations are very charming.
We even used the pizza oven one evening to make our own pizzas. It was a fun experience!

Disliked Their lawnmower was undergoing repairs when we were there, so the grass was quite long; but I'm sure it's been fixed since.
