  • Single family-friendly bell tent with views over mountains and the sea
  • On the edge of the Llŷn Peninsula; 25 minutes' drive from Abersoch
  • Logburning stove, firewood, firepit and barbecue provided
With gorgeous views overlooking Cardigan Bay and the three peaks known as The Rivals, Bronmiod is packed full of potential for outdoorsy breaks. You won't have to travel far to experience the best beaches on the Llŷn Peninsula, peaceful swathes of green Welsh countryside or some of the most spectacular vistas in Snowdonia, as this site is located in the tiny village of Llanaelhaearn, 25 minutes' drive from Abersoch and the edge of the national park. Exceptional levels of peace and privacy are to be expected here, as this sturdy canvas bell tent is the only accommodation unit on site. Stunning views start right from the tent, which comes equipped with a double bed and futons that together can sleep up to two adults and four children. A logburning stove, firewood, a barbecue and a firepit are all provided, so you won't struggle to find ways to stay warm and well fed, and the tent has access to its own toilet, shower and washing-up sink a short walk away in a purpose-built cabin. Llanaelhaearn is a remote spot, so make sure to stock up on provisions while you're out and about. If food shop planning isn't your strong suit, there's a pub and convenience store about 20 minutes' drive from base too.

Local attractions

Bathing, beachcombing and watersports are all on the agenda down the road in Abersoch (25 minutes' drive), a smart seaside resort on the southern side of the Llŷn Peninsula with direct access to pristine stretches of sand. The other local port town not to be missed, Caernarfon, is about half an hour by road in the other direction and is home to Roman remains, lots of independent shops and an impressive 13th-century castle. For days in the hills, it's roughly 25 minutes to the edge of Snowdonia National Park, or you could stay local and set out to scale The Rivals (10 minutes' drive), a dramatic range of peaks on the northern side of the peninsula that can be seen from site. And if walking isn't your thing, you could always take a comfortable ride on the scenic Llanberis Lake Railway instead (40 minutes). Other popular day trips include the Isle of Anglesey and the spectacular Menai Bridge (45 minutes), the pretty Italian-style village at Portmeirion (35 minutes) and GreenWood Family Park (35 minutes), a family-oriented theme park with a rollercoaster, mazes and lots of live shows.
