A trip to north Wales can mean many things… for some it’s all about the action-packed adventures, while for others it’s more of a quiet-time thing, allowing some hours for activities like fishing, photography or art. Whichever of these you’ve got in mind (or perhaps a mix of both), you’ll be in a good location at Glanllyn - Lakeside Caravan and Camping Park. This Gwynedd site is right on the shores of Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid), with its own private pebbly stretch of beach where you're welcome to go wild swimming. For an additional fee, grab permits for fishing permit or launching your own paddleboarding, kayaking or windsurfing equipment. Staying at such a strategic spot in the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park also means that you’ll have access to lots more activities in the surroundings too, from hikes and mountain bike outings to gorge walking, ziplining and cave adventures. Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is the big climb, about an hour’s drive away, but there are several other mountains closer by that also offer up good challenges – take a look at Arenig Fawr or Aran Benllyn. Of course that lakeside location is a fabulous one for the serenity-seekers too – the park stretches out over 16 acres of tree-lined level parkland, so there’s plenty of space to soak up those stunning views towards the surrounding hills and mountains. All the essential facilities are covered here, including a launderette, a small food shop, a washing-up area, showers and toilets – plus a play area for any kids you haven’t yet worn out. Barbecue and campfire cooking is permitted, and you’ll be able to pick up wood-fired pizzas on busy weekends.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked Loved this campsite from the staff, cleanliness of the campsite and facilities was spot on.
Yes we had perfect weather but the site felt safe not over crowded and we felt important, when day trippers weren’t allowed on site something which could be a big earner for them, but no the most important people where us the campers we had the luxury of the private access to the lake and it felt special. Thanks so much for a perfect weekend in a beautiful setting.

Disliked The toilet roll holder behind the toilet! As silly as it sounds it was annoying when you have short arms.

Excellent site all round, will definitely be returning!

Will definitely be returning.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Site was in a lovely setting near to lake and river.
Site shop stocked with essentials and things that children liked
Electric hard pitch 12 a good size.
Grass pitch behind and luckily our daughter and 3 young children arrived in time to take the grass Electric pitch she had booked .which I was happy about as we asked when we arrived if they could reserve her a pitch next to us but they don't reserve pitches and she was by herself the first night with the children

Disliked Lady on book in very abrupt and not very helpful (however young girl on bike made up for it and she was very friendly and cheerful)
Disabled toilets you need a code and you are not given one automatically even though they knew my wife was disabled
Also grass river pitches in front of us was awful one family had campervan large tent attached then red car parked and lite fire pit in front of car.then another campervan pulled up waving his arms the man then proceeded to move red car pit fire out . So this man could get to his awning and zip onto his van he was left with no real space to get out of his drivers door as there was table chairs etc.we were not allowed an extra car it had to go in car park behind barrier. He just dumped his red car infront of his awning and campervan.this really should not happen. Glad it was not my pitch

Absolutely beautiful, lucky to book right next to the lake. The toilets…

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely quiet site in a picturesque setting, the babies were able to run around the field with plenty space and loved it!
Sat right on the lake and even though we didn't participate in any water sports due to having young children, we all loved watching everyone else there! They even have picnic benches at the lake so you could eat there!
Plenty of toilet, shower and washing up facilities, all kept lovely and clean! The park is amazing for young children, and the on site shop has everything you could need!
Gorgeous site, we'll definitely be back!

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked The location to the lake was excellent and it was easy to walk into Bala. There were plenty of toilets and showers with hot water and the toilet block was always clean and tidy. The shop was small but well stocked. The pitch was level with plenty of room around it.

Disliked The busy road was close to our camping spot and quite noisy (although quiet over night). The dog paddock was very small, close to the main road and not big enough to exercise dogs. The Wi-Fi was weak although there was an option to pay for a better one.
