  • Hand-built cosy adults-only cabins on a three-acre wildlife haven
  • Just outside Snowdonia National Park, 10 minutes' drive from Conwy
  • Paths lead directly to the national park; pubs within walking distance
A cosy, comfy cabin in a quiet corner of a three-acre wildlife haven, with spectacular views towards Snowdonia by day and a display of stars by night… it might be enough to have you packing your bags and making tracks for north Wales straight away. But wait – you haven’t yet heard about the direct access to walking and bike paths heading into the national park, or the beaches a short drive away, or (and this is a most important one…) the friendly local pubs within strolling distance. There’s one more important thing you should know about The Cabins Conwy before you head up into the hills on the 10-minute drive from Conwy town, and that’s the fact that this is an adults-only site. With no kids scampering about the place, there’s a properly peaceful vibe on site – and one that meets with the approval of the otters, red kites, hawks and other wild beasts that often pass by. All sorts of active times are on hand nearby, as are gentler days pottering around gardens, seaside towns and castles. Whichever you opt for, a comfy double bed awaits for you to fall into at the end of it all, in a cosy hand-built cabin that’s been well insulated and kitted out with an electric flame-effect stove. Each cabin has its own ty bach (little house) next door with a compost loo, and there’s a shared shower cabin. If not trotting off to the pub, guests can cook dinner in their well-equipped kitchenette or sit out by the firepit or barbecue provided.

Cabin

Liked: We loved our stay here. The site and facilities are immaculate and obviously well loved. The cabin was thoughtfully laid out with everything we needed, comfy bed, lanterns candles and some extras like milk and cakes in the fridge. The outside space to relax and enjoy watching the world go by at the side of the firepit in the evenings was quiet and private. A complete digital detox is exactly what we needed. Thank you

Cabin

Liked: If you're looking for a quiet get away then this is perfect, cute little campsite very private as each cabin is secluded in its own little area, each cabin has its own outside toilet, seating area and small bbq. Communal shower is clean and good quality, beds are comfy and the cabins are cosy and warm. Location wise its good, small pub both to the left and the right as you leave the campsite (both serve food). Both have beer gardens with nice views. Conwy centre is only a 10/15 min and there's plenty to do there too. Sue the owner responds quick to emails/calls and seems very pleasant. Would stay again 100%.

Cabin

Liked: We had a very peaceful weekend break at the Cabins. The cabin was comfortable and everything had been thought about. We loved watching the numerous butterflies that visited the flowering plants surrounding the cabin.

Disliked: There is no WiFi and limited phone signal, so be prepared for a digital detox!

Cabin

Liked: The cabin and its surrounding are lovely, with all the flower and plants everywhere, we could see that this place is very well looked after. The cabin had everything we needed, we stayed four nights and enjoyed every moment. We appreciated a lot having all the equipment to do a barbecue. The area, which we did not know, has a lot to offer and we would definitely recommend staying there!

Local attractions

So… Snowdonia to start with? Your cabin comes with a folder full of ideas for walks, including those directly from the site and others from local top spots including Llanrwst (15 minutes’ drive), Betws-y-Coed (25 minutes) and Blaenau Ffestiniog (35 minutes). Or perhaps you’d like to opt for a different way to view the scenery – at speed on the ziplines of Zip World Fforest (20 minutes) or at a rather gentler pace on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway (35 minutes). Or maybe while catching waves at Adventure Parc Snowdonia’s inland surf lagoon (10 minutes)? Steer away from Snowdonia and there’s still plenty more to see – Conwy Castle (10 minutes), Welsh Mountain Zoo (15 minutes) and the smart seaside town of Llandudno (15 minutes) all make for good outings, as do the pretty wanders of the National Trust Bodnant Gardens (10 minutes). It’s also home to Bodnant Welsh Food, a fine place to stop in for a bite and stock up on local goodies for when you’re back at base (or back home…)
