Head riverwards too with a stay at Riverside Caravan Park bordered by the River Teviot, for easy access to the lot as well as day trips to Edinburgh, Newcastle and Carlisle. The park is family run, on 10 acres of mature parkland and Scottish Borders wildlife haven with easy access to local hiking, walking, cycling and horse riding, as well as discounted golf at a Riverside sister site Lillardsedge Holiday Park & Golf Course 20 minutes' drive away. And if you don't want to leave the grounds to get active? Simply sorted, as a woodland walk awaits and free fishing is available to all guests. Riverside has modern amenities including eco-friendly toilets and showers, a disabled area, a baby changing facility, a washing-up area and a launderette. Pets are welcome and stay for free. The market town of Hawick is two and a half miles away.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We only stayed one night but the site was well kept and the toilet block very clean and modern, although quite small. Good sized pitches and enough lights at night to walk around. The WIFI was excellent and much appreciated.

Disliked There needs to be some clear signs that the touring pitches are the first left entrance as the other way is a dead end and after accidently going there was told by one of the static residences that this happens all the time and turning there is very difficult. Some writing on the road would be ideal and a dead end sign. The entrance down to the touring pitches is very steep (why I did not go down there at first), longer caravans might struggle and ground out.

Definitely would need to book well in advance in summer

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked 8 touring pitches on a large static site. Handy for Hawick either 10 minutes by car or a 2.5 mile riverside walk. Set anong trees and adjacent to main road north. Level wide pitches close to modern clean facilities. Staff on site very welcoming and helpful.

Disliked Dish wash area is open air which wasn't great in October. Pitches are very close together. Not sure about chickens wandering free🤔

Liked It was a good sized pitch.
The toilets were nice and clean and fairly modern.

Disliked There were chickens roaming about and I had poo on my shoes.
The showers were set to go off after 10 seconds. Could have done with longer and the hot taps at the sinks were plumed in the wrong way round.

Liked Great pitch, fully serviced, more than enough space for our tentbox and living pod, great onsite facilities (toilet, shower, laundry & dishwashing), roaming chickens were a nice twist, owners/staff were really nice and very helpful, bus stop at entrance for easy access to Hawick, we will be back !!!

Wander along the River Teviot, go nature spotting, or hire a bike from the Riverside team for Borders days close to the park; much more of the outdoorsy same is at spectacular Kielder Forest over the border in Northumberland 45 minutes' drive south. Scottish Borders town days are plentiful around here too, with Hawick under 10 minutes' drive from the park, Jedburgh 15 and Kelso 20. Half an hour away, Selkirk is where William Wallace was famously declared guardian of Scotland; three miles from there, have an afternoon at Bowhill House for more woodland walks and dramatic antics from its on-site theatre. Swimming pools and a soft play centre are at Teviotdale Leisure Centre, five minutes' drive away.
