A good base for edinburgh but expensive and needs more thought
Bell tent
Liked The marquee was good as were the games. Easy to find. Festival vibe with lights and firepit. Easy bus route into city centre about 30 mins. Food van useful and good that they had phone charging stations. Pamper station was good.
Disliked The showers were terrible for water pressure and varying in temperature from freezing to boiling hot. Not enough toilets and they were cramped. Dishwashing facilities basic. Unsure whether any water was safe drinking water. Tent leaked when it rained. Bedding damp every morning when you wake up even when tent was ventilated. During busy times diffilcult to get a space on phone charging station

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the marquee, games, firepit and festival atmosphere, as well as the convenient bus route, food van, pamper area and charging facilities.
We’re sorry that some aspects of your stay didn’t meet expectations. We have been working closely with our shower and toilet provider throughout the Festival to address water pressure and temperature issues as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your comments regarding the number of facilities and drinking-water signage.
We’re particularly sorry to hear that your tent leaked. This is certainly not the experience we want for our guests, and any issues reported to our team are dealt with as quickly as possible.
Our accommodation is designed as Festival Glamping, with spacious furnished bell tents, proper mattresses, full bedding, duvets, pillows, throws and lanterns, alongside extensive communal facilities rather than electricity or bathroom facilities within individual tents.
We genuinely value constructive feedback, particularly in our first season, and will take your comments on board as we continue to develop and improve the site. Thank you again for staying with us.
Great option for the fringe. Mix of people, felt friendly and safe.
Bell tent
Liked Tents were super spacious. Comfortable beds, duvets etc. Clean, looked after environment. Easy transport into edinburgh. Would use again and recommend. Was quiet 1st weekend. But great communal firepit and bbq areas. Loos and showers all good, better than expected.
Disliked Would be amazing to have a plug in the tents. To charge phones. There was a charge point in communal area. Some clearer signage about washing up and drinking water. In different languages too. Went to the loo and someone was washing plates in sink.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted you found the tents spacious and comfortable and enjoyed the peaceful setting, communal firepit and BBQ areas, as well as the easy transport links into Edinburgh. It’s wonderful to hear you would stay with us again and recommend us.
Thank you also for the helpful feedback. As an outdoor glamping site, we don’t have electricity in the tents, but we provide charging facilities in our communal area for guests to use. Your comments regarding clearer signage for drinking water and washing-up areas, including signage in different languages, are really useful and something we will look at improving.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to welcome you back to Festival Glamping at The Drum again! ⛺️
