  • Adults-only site with views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh
  • Beach and coast path a mile away; St Andrews 25 minutes' drive
  • Well-maintained dog-friendly site with well-equipped recreation room
What a fabulous Fife location – Woodland Gardens Caravan Site is on the slopes of Largo Law above the village of Lower Largo, with stunning views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and beyond. No one can ever guarantee good weather in Scotland, of course, but a stay here gives you a better chance than in most places as the East Neuk of Fife is known as the driest area in the country. The region’s fishing villages and coast paths have led to it being known in some quarters as ‘Scotland’s Cornwall’ – and that’s surely an enticing prospect… This peaceful site is set up for adults only, and it prides itself on maintaining high quality through great attention to detail. That meticulous approach applies throughout, from keeping the gardens neat and tidy to making sure the toilets and showers (in separate areas for ladies and gents) are always nice and clean. Facilities here have been well thought out too: guests have access to a washing-up area, a launderette and a recreation room that’s got a pool table, a large TV, a book swap and some board games and puzzles. You’ll be able to see the sea from the site, but surely you’ll want a closer look… It’s about a mile from the park to Lower Largo beach and the Fife Coastal Path. Leven (10 minutes’ drive) and Anstruther (20 minutes) are a couple of handy local places to have in mind for shops and places to eat, and it’s a 25-minute drive to St Andrews.

What customers say

Woodland Gardens, adults-only, lauded for spotless grounds, calm vibe, and top-notch amenities. Owners are always sound, folks. Lovely walks, great for Fife coast. Pitches a bit tight for some, but still a grand spot for a chill break. Highly recommended.

Camping pod (twin)

Liked Clean, lovely area, quiet, the wall paper, walks from the site, easy walks for food, immaculate grass, amazingly neat grass!
New owners are helpful and kind.
Great spot for exploring the coastal path, but far from the madding crowds.

Disliked Pitch Ups advice is outdated, see the owners own site to check what to take and to book.

Electric gravel motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Ian, Tara and their little wriggler Cameron are lovely hosts. Very attentive and keen to help with local knowledge. The info sheets are very useful and the dog-walks in Keli Den are perfect for early morning and late evening walks. Facilities are good and carefully maintained. Showers hot with plenty of space. I loved the quirky Victorian world map wallpaper - where is Baluchistan? Adult site and very peaceful with good access to the coast and only 1/2 mile from Largo.

Disliked The campsite is fairly small and we felt a little exposed to neighbours on all sides on pitch 5 . This is maybe only an issue when the site is full and we’d much rather have had it than to go elsewhere.

Liked Brilliant site , very quiet and relaxing,we stayed in a lovely pod , microwave, TV , inclosed little fence going round it was great for our little dog she could run round all day enjoying the freedom ( lying in the sun enjoying life).
Brilliant place to enjoy days out to st Andrews and Edinburgh.
Lovely beaches, just a short drive to all amenities ( shops , restaurants, pubs) ext.this is our second time here and will definitely be back next year .
I can remember this site , Apure gem 100% .

Disliked Nothing at all .if anything the WiFi was not to hot in our pod but we were probably on the end of the range and let's face it, this is a place to leave the tec at home and enjoy your holiday (or brake ) and If someone finds anything else wrong with this site ?
( They are nit picking) It's brilliant .and a credit to the owners .

Local attractions

One of the real draws of this location is the ability to get out and about to lots of different activities easily enough. Golfing folk will want to bring along their gear for a round on Lundin Links golf course (five minutes’ drive) with spectacular views out over the sea. If crazy golf is more your style, head instead to Pittenweem (15 minutes), a harbour town that’s also got a tidal pool. For fishing, take to the shores of Loch Leven (half an hour) – or if you prefer just watching colourful fish swimming about, visit Deep Sea World aquarium (40 minutes). Different wildlife encounters are on offer over in Anstruther (20 minutes), where you can board boat trips to see the puffins and seals on the Isle of May. Other days out nearby might involve taking in some local history at Kellie Castle (15 minutes), Falkland Palace (25 minutes) and Dunfermline Abbey (40 minutes) or exploring the popular student town of St Andrews (25 minutes). Or might you just find your way into Scotland’s Secret Bunker (25 minutes)?
