Greenacre Place Touring Caravan Park: New Hardstandings For 2019

General

  • Small family-run touring park two minutes from Junction 22 of the M5
  • A couple of miles from the beach at Burnham-On-Sea
  • Easy access to the Mendip Hills, Weston-super-Mare and Glastonbury

Green, Somerset-based and adults-only: what a splendidly relaxed and smashingly scenic place this is – and all just a couple of miles from the beach at Burnham-On-Sea.

This small and family-run touring park is only two minutes' drive from Junction 22 of the M5 too, so bring your wheels and base yourself firmly here for some time around Somerset seaside days, handsome old towns, ancient sites (Glastonbury!) and green countryside and hills around which to ramble. Off further afield? Stop off here on the way to or from a holiday in Cornwall.

Greenacre Place Touring Caravan Park has a level touring field with grass pitches. Chemical disposal points are on site for guests' use, along with a toilet block and heated showers in large cubicles with wet and dry areas. There's also free wifi.

Dogs are very welcome, but please keep them on leads at all times on site.

A pub serving food is ten minutes' walk away; shops, pubs, restaurants, a supermarket, bus service and Highbridge train station are all within five minutes' drive.

AA 4 pennants

What a beautiful place! So clean and the toilets and showers were so clean and smelt amazing! There was even a bit for the dog to stretch his legs which was brilliant! At night it looked stunning with fairy lights and solar lights! Amazing! Had an Aldi and Asda right down the road so was perfect if you needed anything or petrol

    Very convenient for the M5
Very clean facilities and well planned out small site
    Very reasonable fees
Fairy lights strung around the borders at night is a nice touch
Good pub grub within a 10 min drive.

    Disliked:

Heavy traffic noise from the adjacent A38 ( particularly if on a pitch backing onto the road)
No contact or welcome from owner on my 2 visits.
( except to remonstrate with me for entering his property when I had to return half an hour after leaving, because I had left something behind and driving over the grass!)

From the manager...

Many thanks for your generally positive review. For one night stopovers that arrive late and leave early, we don't always get the opportunity of welcoming our guests and with the ongoing Covid pandemic, social distancing is a priority. We are here if you need anything and you can contact us by coming to our office or giving us a call.

Just to be clear - I had absolutely no problem with you returning to collect something you left behind. However, I had a major problem with you driving across our well manicured grass, rather than using the road !

Local attractions

Greenacre Place Touring Caravan Park is a mere two miles from the long sandy beaches of Burnham-On-Sea and within easy access of famed Somerset seaside town Weston-super-Mare, home of more sands, a most Grand Pier and Britain's only helicopter museum.

To the north is the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Mendip must not only for their viewsome hikes among the gorges and woodland rising up from the Somerset Levels, but also for the eye-wateringly fab Cheddar Gorge, carved into the hills and so gorge-ous it's been named as Britain's second greatest natural wonder (the Dan-yr-Ogof caves in Wales are first).

Going east will take you to also very famed Glastonbury, with its Tor, Chalice Well, 170 listed buildings and the Somerset Rural Life Museum; a short distance from there is the village of Street and to the north you'll find the tiny city of Wells.

Other top options are the county town of Taunton, surrounded by the Blackdown and Quantock Hills, and the Bredon Hills to the south-west, running all the way along to Exmoor National Park.

Must see

  • Cheddar Caves & Gorge (9.0 miles)
  • Clarks Village (11.9 miles)
  • Glastonbury Abbey (12.0 miles)

National Trust

  • King John's Hunting Lodge (7.2 miles)
  • Coleridge Cottage (10.3 miles)
