What customers say

Great site for a quiet getaway. Spotless facilities, especially the showers. Friendly staff, good cider farm, and handy for sightseeing. Some found access tricky and pitches uneven, with reception sometimes closed.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Good location, between Totnes and Paignton. Great facilities - hot showers and very clean. Lots of room in the shower with benches to sit on and hooks. Wash up area was clean.

Disliked Distance from facilities, especially as there was room closer.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked A great site with lovely views and excellent facilities - huge showers, plenty of loos, hairdryer, and all very clean. Indoor washing up area was also very nice and the staff were friendly. Having a cider farm shop on site is a bonus!
The location was great in terms of Paignton and Brixham being only a short drive away.

Disliked Some pitches were on a bit of a slope so don’t forget your ramps. We couldn’t get much signal but that wasn’t really a bad thing!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Very remote and lovely scenery, river Brit 6 minute drive away, facilities were clean and well looked after and the site also

Disliked Some campers arrived at midnight blowing up airbeds etc and a lot of chatting etc I only say this as some campsites have stricter restrictions on after 11pm but this was a bank holiday the rest of my holiday was lovely

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked The site, nice facilities/pitch sizes.

Disliked V loud music till 1030pm. I understand entertainment is required/enjoyed by a lot of people but I think for families this should be much quieter after 930pm.

The shop was closed the 3 times we tried to use it.

Local attractions

The Devon village of Stoke Gabriel is about a mile from the site and has a supermarket, pubs, a shop, a post office and gentle riverside ambles along the Dart to ancient village streets or the old apple orchard. Pick up some crabbing gear and head for the Stoke Gabriel quay to catch a few specimens; this is a well-known crabbing area and just the spot to teach the kids how to master the art. If boats are your bag, hire a vessel to sail up the river to Totnes or catch the ferry downstream to Dittisham, opposite Agatha Christie’s old home and inspiration at the Greenway Estate – no need to keep your eyes peeled for somewhat spectacular river views. From here you can go on to Dartmouth, where the river releases to the sea, and stop off for an afternoon’s shopping or to see Dartmouth Castle, one of a pair of forts protecting the mouth of the Dart Estuary and part of a harbour cruise from Dartmouth to Kingswear. Safe and spotless beaches abound within a few minutes’ drive of Broadleigh, from the award-winning sands of Goodrington, the closest beach to the site, to nearby Brixham and Torquay among other family-friendly sandy fare. If the weather’s a little damp, Goodrington’s Seashore Centre has free admission and info on the history of the 22-mile stretch of the English Riviera. Broadleigh lies roughly halfway between Plymouth and Exeter, both within about 40 minutes’ drive.
