Hardstanding campervan pitch
The outdoor pool
Pitch overlooking the devon countryside

  • Award-winning 80-acre site two miles from the beach
  • Pools, pub, fish and chip shop, sauna, steam room and gym
  • Five private fishing lakes, woodland adventure zone and nature trails
Anyone who relishes a bit of variety on their holidays should give this award-winning site serious consideration: there are buckets and spades of activities for all ages, both on site and in the immediate vicinity. Tucked into a valley, only a mile away from swathes of Blue Flag beaches, and a 10-minute drive from Dawlish Warren, Cofton Holidays has 80 acres of meadows, orchards and woodland laced with nature trails for visitors to explore. The facilities here will keep the whole family happily entertained for weeks: Cofton's indoor pool has massage jets and hydrotherapy bubble loungers, as well as a sauna, steam room and gym (a small additional charge applies), and there's a splash area with water jets to entertain the kids. Or set off angling instead at one of the five private fishing lakes, to bag a monster carp (24-pounders aren't unknown here). More? Kids can bounce around in the three dedicated play areas or explore the adventure zone in the woods, with activities such as pond dipping and bug hunting laid on in season; if it’s raining, there’s also a games room with amusements and a pool table. After these exertions, retire to the poolside patio of the Swan Inn for a refresher and a snack: the pub opens every night and serves up a good range of grub (breakfast and lunch are also available at weekends), plus regular entertainment including live bands, discos and karaoke in high season. Cofton also has its own fish and chip joint, as well as a shop for any vittles you might need. Wifi across the whole site (charges apply) means staying connected is simple, and it’s also worth mentioning that Cofton has excellent facilities for disabled visitors.

What customers say

Top-notch site, spotless with loads for everyone: pools, fun, play areas. Friendly staff get rave reviews. Spacious pitches. Great location, dog-friendly. But watch out for hefty extras on WiFi, indoor pools, and electrics. Showers can be hit-and-miss, and noise sometimes an issue.

7.5 metre electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The pitch was a good size and sheltered. The Toilet block was clean and the showers were excellent. We were warmly welcomes and escorted to our pitch.
The club was large and the dinning areas nice. We also enjoyed the pool facilities.

Disliked WiFi was a bit intermitent.

8 meter fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (super)

Liked Site amazingly clean and well looked after. Evening entertainment well organised by a very talented and fun group of people. Swimming pool clean, tidy and nice facilities with sauna and steam room.
Tractor ride to Dawlish Warren convenient and good fun.
Sainsbury's a couple of miles down the road much better priced and stocked than on-site shop.

Disliked After paying quite a lot per night, I didn't like spending extra to go to the site pool - comparable price to going to a commercial swimming pool offsite. One of the benefits of staying on a site with a pool is you can drop in and out without a financial implication.
Paying extra for electricity was a bit of a nasty surprise for a 'fully serviced' pitch... However, the price wasn't too horrific - 5 nights at around £15. We used heating and hot water in the caravan. Paying over 30p/kwh does feel a bit like the site is profiteering from the electricity. I noticed there were quite a few issues with the electricity payment app not working for people - 2 in front of me in the queue when I also had issues.
The added costs... swimming, tractor ride, all on-site activities, electricity, expensive shop, restaurant etc
Evening entertainment felt quite crowded with seats and tables difficult to find. This was October, I can imagine its even busier in the summer.

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (maximum 8 metres)

Liked Love everything about the site , it’s got everything there for the family and will return in April.

Disliked Just thought the electric bill was a bit much for the stay considering we were not in the caravan much over the weekend and it cost £22

Electric optional gravel campervan pitch (maximum 6 metres)

Liked facilities

Disliked I booked a 6m campervan pitches unaware any pitch was suitable for a vw campervan, was put as far from the entertainment complex as was possible, not to mention it was at the top of a very steep hill.needless to say I couldn't use the entertainment or restaurant or shop etc also the only toilet block I was near didn't have a shower in.
This is a nice site spoilt by pitch placement, being 70 and wife 65 didn't help.it was half term so busy site so a possibility of being moved was remote.

Electric optional gravel campervan pitch (maximum 6 metres)

Liked Peaceful quiet site despite having so many facilities. Good to have pub and restaurant on site - good food too. Showers and toilets very clean. In fact the whole site is very well maintained and tidy. Great cycling from the site, which is why we stayed.

Disliked First man on reception was not friendly at all, just mumbled at me. Second young man we saw could not have been more helpful and let us move site to be next to friends.
