General

  • Luxury glamping in a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty
  • Spotless facilties and a firepit area with cushioned seating
  • Onsite treatment cabin with Shiatsu treatments

Now this is a lot of luxury... is a small and secluded site with spacious and fully-equipped bell tents, spotless amenities and a firepit area (with cushioned seating), and all in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north Cornwall, surrounded by fields with grazing sheep and horses – you might rather fancy the on-site treatment cabin where guests can pay for Shiatsu treatments too.

Settle down here for luxury views: you'll be able to see the Camel Estuary and the Atlantic Ocean from here, as well as views over the surrounding countryside as far as the high peaks on Bodmin Moor and the headlands of the Camel. It's a five-minute drive to the town of Wadebridge and only a couple of miles to Rock and the scenic coastal walk to Polzeath.

The roomy bell tents at Lowarth are fully kitted out and have a woodburning stove as well as a small camping kitchen annex in each (fully kitted out with all you might need; just bring your own food and drink). If you fancy dining alfresco, a table, chairs and a brazier are just outside.

Amenities on site are immaculately maintained and include a modern toilet and shower block with four toilets and two wetroom showers; a kitchen room with dishwashing facilities, two sockets for using hairdryers or charging phones, a microwave and a fridge with freezer compartment and ice blocks for the cool boxes supplied; and a laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.

The award-winning Quarryman Pub and Restaurant is a few minutes' walk away.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write this lovely review. It was a pleasure to see you here again at our site. Sorry the WiFi was not great while you were here, that does happen from time to time and is why the cost of the WiFi is not included in the cost of the tent. Would be lovely to welcome you back again one day. Avril x

Thank you for this lovely review and I do hope we see you again.
I am sorry that £45 per night for two people was not viewed as value for money.
Our site does not earn enough to provided full Wifi coverage, but what we offer is free and I hope that helped to compensate. Avril.

Excellent site and great introduction to glamping 09/11/2016

Our four night stay was a gift from our daughter and her partner, and we had the pleasure of staying in Bluebell, a large bell tent with plenty of room. The team at Lowarth have worked on every little detail to ensure that visitors have everything they need. The tent and adjacent kitchen area are fully equipped, and the grounds are very well presented with ample separation between the six tents. The amenities block is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hot water was always available for showers. Lowarth's location, both in terms of being in the north Cornwall coastal area, and its proximity to the excellent Quarryman Inn, just at the top of the lane, is ideal.
One unexpected, but very welcome surprise (having had to get up in the middle of the night...) was to see the Milky Way above us, in all its splendour, thanks to a clear night sky and very low light pollution.
This experience has opened our minds to glamping, and we may well now explore other sites, as well as looking forward to returning to Lowarth one day.

What's to dislike apart from having to leave after four nights...

The harbour town of Padstow and the ancient stone circles and Stone Age settlements of Bodmin Moor are both within half an hour by car; within an hour you'll also reach the many topping historic houses and the very popular Cornish attractions of the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
