What customers say

A grand, peaceful eco-campsite, highly recommended. Spacious pitches with lovely views. Nicki, the owner, is gas! Basic, clean facilities. A small shop and bar add to the craic. Water pump tricky, no hot water for dishes, but the relaxed vibe and scenery are class. Many want to come back.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked The campsite was great. Nice sized pitch. Could fit my big tent, gazebo and big car into the space.
The shop is nice, and has a few bits and there is a little playground for the kids.
Nicki is really helpful and relaxed. The composting toilet is well maintained. Nice view. Would stay there again.

Disliked Only two minor points. The drinking water barrel and pump is difficult to use and you have to pump quite hard to get any out and takes ages. It’s also quite loud and when others use it early morning to get water it’s disturbing - it woke me up both mornings.
There is no hot water for washing up, but I guess you could always boil your kettle!

From the manager: Yes it's true guys, when you stay here, you have to boil a kettle if you want hot water to wash up. Being sustainable here isn't a gimmick - we encourage a bit of proper camping, we also watch the amount of water used and the amount of earthly resources it takes to make things hot! So, if you have to to do it yourself, heat the water etc. It's amazing how the amount used correlates to the amount needed, and not more. Much less wastage!
As it goes, we also live like this. If we want hot water, we boil a kettle. Every day, day in, day out - not just a holiday.
Resources are important and need to be respected. Also it's camping! A little self sufficiency is a good thing! You can do it! 😉

We do, however, have hot water in the showers!

Apologies for the water pump. Easier to tell me it's a bit slow than the Internet. I fixed it with a screwdriver!

Hope it didn't put you off too much. Would be nice to see you again. 😊

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked Tent pitches were spacious, surround by greenery with great views.

The whole site was a quaint, very peaceful, well organised back to basics camping experience.

The owners clearly care about the natural setting of their site and the authentic camping experience.

The shower was reliably hot every time using it, clean and well maintained.

Nikki was helpful and friendly, full of local knowledge.

We'll be happy to stay again, particularly to visit Helman Tor (as recommended by Nikki) what a special place.

Disliked Nothing.

Non-electric grass tent or campervan pitch

Liked We stayed 3 nights at Canna Farm and loved every minute of our stay, it's a little slice of heaven, we loved the natural feel of this eco campsite and were sad to leave, we will definitely be going back, the location is perfect for trips out during the day too, but also we were more than happy to just stay on site and relax, the owner, Nicky is really friendly and helpful and makes you feel really welcome, all in all its a beautiful campsite with lovely people and we can't wait for our next visit.

Local attractions

Pace yourself and visit the Eden Project more than once for more than one type of adventure: as well as the biodomes to see, there's jumping, swinging, falling and zipwiring all on offer at Eden's Hangloose Adventure. Canna Farm's equally well placed for another major attraction: it's half an hour to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, which are a touching tribute to human endeavours as well as a fab horticultural feature to wander around for hours. For watersports and more sedate seaside activities, it's a 15-minute drive to Carlyon Bay and St Austell and half an hour to the popular coastal spots of Par Sands and Pentewan beach. For a different perspective on the sea, make for Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Centre (20 minutes) to see a variety of strange stuff salvaged from the waves. If it's clifftop hikes and trots along the dunes you're into, link up with the South West Coast Path at Charlestown, or pick it up at Par Sands and walk the wilder spaces of the Polperro Heritage Coast, finishing off with a swim at Readymoney Cove (half an hour by car). Depending on age and tastes, there's plenty of indoor entertainment on offer as well, from tours and tastings at St Austell Brewery (15 minutes), to meeting the feathered inhabitants of the Screech Owl Sanctuary 20 minutes away near St Columb Major.
