  • Family-friendly site with fishing lakes 15 minutes’ drive from Newquay
  • Mawgan Porth five minutes’ drive; Springfield Fun Park 15 minutes
  • Children’s playground; resident farm animals; farm shop; launderette
Be sure to pack your trusted rod for your stay at Penvose Farm Holidays, a working farm on the edge of Cornwall Airport Newquay, with four coarse fishing lakes. And the best thing (or one of the best things, at least) about staying here is that your loved ones will also have plenty to keep them occupied while you sit by the water, waiting for carp and perch to bite, your canine friend snoozing gently by your side. (There is a small fee for dogs, but they are welcome here, provided they are well behaved around the livestock.) A children’s playground has a wooden climbing structure, swings and slides; the large grassy meadow is also a top spot for riding a bike or kicking a ball around. Then, of course, there’s the spectacular beaches of North Cornwall. Within a short drive are Mawgan Porth (five minutes), a sheltered sandy triangle at the mouth of the River Menalhyl; and neighbouring Porth Beach and Newquay (both 15 minutes, separated by the rocky Glendorgal Headland). Rockpools line the former, set within a deep inlet, while Newquay is renowned for its surfing waves. The South West Coast Path runs along all of these beaches, and a clifftop hike might lead to vantage points with stunning sea views – or to traditional Cornish pubs where you can stop for refreshments. A small farm shop at the site sells bits and bobs for the barbecue; there are also several supermarkets within a 10-minute drive, not to mention heaps of restaurants in both Newquay and Padstow (25 minutes). Other amenities on site include hot showers, a launderette and a communal fridge freezer.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Once again, the site delivered everything & more that we needed. We stayed a few months ago without our pup to “suss” the place out as such & we fell in love.
We returned just recently with our pup and the staff were super accommodating with our request to hopefully have a end pitch- not right next to people (if it could be helped)
We will defo now always have here as our stopover when travelling to Newquay .

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Beautiful location, lovely farm site and play area for the younger children. We headed down for a short break so sadly didn't have enough time to explore the site as much as we would have liked but as others have said staff were so lovely and welcoming and the little farm shop was great.

Disliked Shower rooms were clean however the shower heads spray in every direction which made washing hair and faces difficult. We like having the choice of where to pitch our tent, however, the field we were directed to appeared to have very little space for tents with the rest occupied by vacant caravans.

I hope the showers improve. I would visit again.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Friendliness, freedom to choose pitch, peacefully left to enjoy the break, location to good beaches.

Disliked The shower heads in the ladies badly need maintenance. The sprays hit the walls and door but not me. Very difficult to wash long hair.
There were some unsightly abandoned caravans dotted about, a bit depressing. I didnt think about the noise from the airport, I didnt realise how close it was.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and provide valuable feedback. We are continuously working hard to improve the family farm and campsite - we will look into the points you have raised and strive to address them asap. We hope we can welcome you back to the farm again in the future. Kind regards, The Bennett Family.
