  • Five-acre rural Cornwall campsite with views of the Lizard Peninsula
  • Porthleven beach and Flambards Theme Park within a 10-minute drive
  • Café on site, plus animals to meet
The Lizard Peninsula, St Michael’s Mount, St Ives and all sorts of splendid spots along Cornwall’s north and south coasts are all yours for the taking when staying at Roselidden House Camping. This quiet site 10 minutes’ drive from Helston is in a fantastically handy position for exploring – or for simply sitting in the five-acre field and enjoying the views out over the Lizard Peninsula. There’s plenty of space here to relax and spread out so you’ll never be bunched up with other guests. Your neighbours will include the site’s own pet sheep and foster donkeys, so although dogs are allowed they’ll need to be kept on a lead at all times. All the essential facilities are provided too: guests will have access to a washing-up area, a freezer, charging points and a couple of bathroom blocks with family rooms as well as separate men’s and ladies’ facilities. This is a site that goes beyond just the essentials though – it’s also got a café which sells breakfasts, light lunches, drinks and cakes along with a few essentials including fresh milk (opening hours vary through the year so check the notices for details). Once you’ve seen the Lizard views from afar, it’s a fine idea to get out and take a closer look – there are some stunning beaches down there, with plenty of walks and watersports to get stuck into as well. Family attractions like Flambards Theme Park and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary are also close by for kid-friendly days out.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked A very friendly, well run and peaceful site that has very clean shower facilities. I loved the meadow and café. The site is very well located for exploring south Cornwall. I loved the campsite and hopefully will return soon.

Disliked The access roads are a little tight but the that's Cornwall for you and you soon get used to it.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch (two person)

Liked Really lovely peaceful setting! Perfect little getaway for a long weekend in Cornwall. Great location also, 30/45 minutes from all the main touristy places. We did a few evening country lane walks too.

Well spaced pitches which offers privacy for your little camp!

Great amenities, clean bathrooms/ shower, free hot water also! Dish cleaning facilities, drinking water, cute communal space for it it’s bad weather and a great little coffee shop.

From the manager: Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the peace 💚

Non-electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked This is the 3rd year we have stayed at Roselidden. We absolutely love it!
The children love running around the field and I love that they are safe to have that freedom here.
Everybody is really friendly and welcoming, the cafe has great coffee and breakfast baps (haven't tried a cake yet!)
And (my favourite thing) the bathrooms are always immaculately clean.

From the manager: Thanks for the lovely review guys 💚

So lovely to see you all again xx

Liked Location. Donkeys / sheep, and cafe.

Disliked Shame the pool is no longer working

From the manager: We are sorry the pool is no longer in use but due to rise in running costs it's no longer viable for us to run.
We have a great local.pool in Helston 5 mins away and lots of gorgeous beaches 💚

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch (two person)

Liked Nice quiet location. Clean facilities. Powerful hot showers. Friendly, helpful owners. Very happy to recommend and will be returning. It even had donkeys.
We didn't use the cafe but it looked lovely.
This site is peaceful and does not have a club house or entertainment which for us was very positive as we were looking for peace and quiet.

Local attractions

Cornwall holidays must surely all include extensive exploration of the amazing coastline – and you’ll be well placed to do that from Roselidden House. Top spots on the Lizard Peninsula like Kynance Cove and Kennack Sands are about half an hour’s drive away (and linked by spectacular coast path walks), or you could head to the likes of Porthleven (15 minutes’ drive), Praa Sands (20 minutes) or Poldhu (20 minutes). Other spots to seek out along the coast might include St Michael’s Mount (25 minutes), Trebah Garden (25 minutes) or – up on the north coast – St Ives (35 minutes) for its excellent mix of art galleries and gorgeous beaches. Although the coast draws much of the glory, there’s much to see and do inland as well. Perhaps you’d like to scream down the rides of Flambards Theme Park (10 minutes), have a more gentle journey on the heritage trains of the Helston Railway (10 minutes) or spend some time meeting the residents of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (15 minutes)?
