What customers say
Grand spot, real peaceful and roomy with tidy pitches and good loos. Owners are sound, lovely spot and close to a pub. Bit basic for some, but grand for a quiet break. Some said facilities could get busy, and rules a bit strict, but most loved it and would go back.

Generally ok but didn’t feel relaxed because of the rules
Bell tent
Liked Lovely location, quiet and spacious. Clean showers and toilets.
Disliked Strict rules, can’t fly drones, couldn’t enjoy fire pit or Grill (had to be 80cm above the ground due to hot weather) but if all summer is hot means we can’t enjoy sitting next to the fire pit in the evenings, so had to freeze in tents as soon as it got dark. Kids was excited to roast marshmallows and got very disappointed that we couldn’t do it… I think they could actually do something about it, put the sand around the pits etc (as we had in another camping place), have to be very quite after 10, which is ok but I had to stress about my 4 kids being noisy…

From the manager: Our strict rules are based on safety and respect of other campers who desire to have a relaxing and peaceful camping break. We therefore only need to stress these rules to some campers who have no natural respect for the peace and enjoyment of other campers. This is why we asked you to stop flying your drone. It was very noisy and upsetting, not only other campers, but guests in our hostel courtyard garden which it was also flying over.
We banned fire pits and charcoal BBQs after Kent Fire and Rescue advised that nobody should light fires and BBQs whilst the ground and vegetation is so tinder dry.
The warning of not using fire pits and BBQs in hot, dry and or windy weather is included in our terms and conditions which everyone is encouraged to read before booking.
We loved our stay!

Liked My husband was a way so I booked a last min 1 night for me, my 12year old son and dog. I booked an hour before we turned up.
Easy to find, perfect location with a lovely pub with a garden 10mins walk down the road, food was beautiful.
The site is basic but perfect, lovely big field with loads of space and big empty fields surrounding for the dog to run around.
We were lucky to have some friendly families opposite who welcomed my son to play cricket and football, they had plenty of space.
We all slept well.
Really cheap compared to some sites!

We were looking forward to hiring a firepit to toast marshmellows, but as the ground was too dry they were not allowed.
Completely understand and agree safety comes first, so not a criticism but the only negative I could find.

From the manager: Rebecca, so sorry you didn't like our campsite, many of our campers love it and give some very high scores. This just wasn't the campsite for you. We are a campsite and not a holiday park so we don't provide any activities. we do have maps with a wide range of recommended walks which have been tried and tested many times by our guests. You can either take a photo of a map or I can send you the GPX file for you to download and use it on your GPS or phone. We hope you have many more weekends away camping, thanks for giving us a try.
