What customers say

Grand spot, dead handy for London on the bus or train. Staff are sound and helpful, facilities are spotless. Pitches are big enough for a few. Lovely quiet place for city breaks or just a chill. A few wee bits of upkeep could do with a look but generally top class.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Quiet surroundings - we camped on a sunny weekend in August and the site was very quiet during the day and night. Not overly crowded.

Security - codes for the gates on entry and exit and toilets as well as CCTV. The site felt very safe.

Friendly staff at reception

Range of facilities including a laundry room and hair dryers.

Disliked Whilst range of facilities was good, the shower/toilet block could do with an upgrade or just some general maintenance and a good scrub. They were useable and ok but didn’t feel particularly clean.

The children’s play area was closed which was a huge shame as it looks really fun. We have a 6 & 7 year old and always choose a site with play equipment so they have entertainment so this was a real shame not to be told about this in advance.

The shop could have been stocked a bit better - it had some store cupboard essentials but the ice cream freezer was nearly empty and no fresh milk/bread.

Having to ask for rubbish to be cleaned up. The bins are the metal can type with lift off lids. There are signs onsite about foxes so whilst the bins are probably rat proof, they are not fox proof. One morning we woke up to rubbish strewn all over the path near our tent, including a dirty nappy. After a couple of hours of no staff dealing with it, my husband had to go and find a member of staff to deal with it. The staff did clean up when notified but just felt like they ignored it until someone complained as it was on the main path.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Ease of access to London. Quiet. Large pitches. Helpful staff.

Disliked Dirty toilets. Surroundings of campsite were very industrial and dirty, not great for walking, didn't feel safe. Within the ULEZ.

Cocoon T camping pod (no pets, twin)

Liked Lots of amenities. Good showers and toilets, laundrette and sinks to wash dishes. The shop was well stocked in case you’ve forgotten anything or need a few extras. The site is quiet and peaceful like a site in the country but a bus service to the city centre comes regularly and it’s a short walk to the nearest overground station.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Really helpful staff, very attractive location. The pitches are a good, generous size and the facilities are clean and well m maintained. The wider park is lovely.

Disliked The location isn't as convenient for central London as I expected. It's either 3 buses or a couple of buses and a train and takes about 1 hr 40. To be that far out and still have to pay ULEZ was a bit of a surprise.

Also (and this can't be controlled by the park or campsite) there are thousands of mosquitoes. We were all severely bitten and now we know why we were the only people sitting outside our vans! Even a citronella lamp didn't deter them so be aware and make sure you bring some kind of insect repellent.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great location to get in and out of London, easy access to the site and plenty of communication by staff at the site before hand. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean and well looked after site.

Disliked Shower and toilets were very clean but could do with a bit of an update, showers could do with staying on for a bit longer between pushing on the water, mirror by the hairdryers would be helpful,

Local attractions

London, of course… get into the city in under an hour from the local station, Edmonton Green – trains run from here towards Liverpool Street station, gateway to the hundreds of things to see and do around the city. Those who've come to escape city throngs will happily find many activities available in the Lee Valley, Hertfordshire and Essex, from gentle walking and cycling trails to adrenaline-raising whitewater rafting or family paddling on the Olympic course at the Lee Valley White Water Centre (where the canoe slalom events were held during London 2012). Seasonal fishing is available in the area if you prefer a more placid pursuit, or you could take the crew along to Lee Valley Park Farms at Waltham Abbey, to meet meerkats, llamas, reindeer and other non-native (and native) critters, watch events like falconry displays and pig and lamb racing, or let the kids loose to career around one of the four adventure play areas. The 1,000 acres of River Lee Country Park should sort those who want to see critters in their natural habitat, as well as those who want to walk, cycle, or get out into the water in a canoe, rowing boat, electric boat or pedalo.
