If you’re on the lookout for a quiet Lancashire location and you’re a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, set your sights on Strawberry Fields Certified Location. Open to CAMC members only – and adults only – this small site is part of a working farm in a handy spot on the edge of the attractive town of Burscough.
The spacious pitches here are part of a 10-acre plot that also houses a donkey paddock and duck pond – a lovely pair of features to check out while you wander around the site. You can also play games of table tennis and croquet or practise your putting skills ahead of a visit to one (or several) of the many golf courses nearby.
It’s a fairly simple setup here, with no guest toilets or showers, so you’ll need to be travelling in a self-contained tourer. Pitches have water connections and access to a chemical disposal point but no electric hookup.
The generously sized pitches mean you can organise things as you wish, bringing a gazebo or awning and setting up a barbecue or firepit. Dogs are welcome on site, and there are some great places to walk them nearby, including along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal towpath, which is only about 30 metres from the farm. A couple of pubs and shops are also within easy walking distance, as is a railway station for local train trips. You may also like to plan days out in Liverpool or at the beaches in Crosby, Formby and Southport.
