What customers say

Brilliant, spotless loos! Car-free fields mean safe play for kids. Spacious, quiet grounds & fab views. Pub, cafe & pool a big hit. Some found it busy with pricey extras, but most loved the beauty & friendly staff.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We really loved our stay at this venue. The shower facilities are pretty good for a camp site and there are a lot of rabbits on the site that you see at night and in the morning that are clearly used to visitors.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We had a great time camping at Long Ashes. The proximity of the toilets/showers was great. The toilet/shower facilities were the nicest I’ve had at a camp site.
The extra water taps were a blessing.
We used the cafe and the pub - both of which were great!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked An excellent place to stay with the best camping toilets I’ve found . A lovely spacious field , great pub and lovely views.

Disliked I didn’t dislike anything but it could have done with a small shop area selling everyday items like milk , bread .

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked The service from the reception staff was very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation from the staff in the cafe to suit our food requirements was most refreshing and the breakfast we had was outstanding, compliments to the chef! The facilities for the campers were the cleanest I’ve ever seen on a campsite, really impressive. Overall had a fantastic stay and would definitely return again.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Excellent location
Great camping fields, spacious and not overpacked
Toilet and shower facilities
Play area and restaurant on site
My children loved seeing the ducks and rabbits (I can’t understand why people would complain about there being duck and rabbit poo, you are literally camping in a field in nature!?)
I’m on EE and I had full mobile reception the whole time

Disliked An extra clean done by staff on the toilet blocks would’ve been great, but still overall they were mostly clean and useable

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Really nice and clean site. Wonderful non-elec pitches across two fields with plenty of flat areas.
Wider facilities (cafe, spa and pub) are really well maintained and the food and staff are all great. Takeaway pizzas were a hit back at the tent!
The pub also has a playground at the rear too so we could have a beer whilst watching the kids play.

Disliked Family bathroom set up is great for getting ready but only 4 units plus a WC on a busy bank holiday meant long waits for the loo because others were showering. Additional WCs somehow would be a bonus if possible.
Fair warning - there’s lots of rabbits on site. A few holes to fall down and temptation for dogs with a high prey drive!

Local attractions

Travel two miles to Grassington for a day around its tearooms and shops, then drop into the Grassington National Park Centre for info on what to see and do nearby. Walks leave right from the centre or from the village, including a waterside wander by the River Wharfe to Linton Falls, hikes over Grassington Moors, or a potter around the Grassington Riverside & Woods trail (pick up a leaflet for this at the centre). Grassington is also on the Dales Way, the 80-mile route from Ilkley in West Yorkshire to Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria: hardy types can tackle the 13 miles from Grassington to Yockenthwaite, or hike in the other direction on the 16-mile stretch to Ilkley. For cycling, take the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway from Grassington to Ilkley and from there to Bolton Abbey. If you'd much (much) prefer sightseeing and shopping days instead, the market town of Skipton is within 15 minutes' drive and Harrogate is within 50.
