  • Quiet, relaxed site on 35 acres of land with a private 15-acre lake
  • A 20-minute drive to the Yorkshire coast and half an hour to Hull
  • Pizzeria, fishing (additional fee) and a bar with an outdoor terrace
Get to Greengrass Park for a peaceful break in the East Yorkshire countryside – this static holiday home and touring caravan site has noise and safety policies in place to keep its ambience serene. The quiet vibes mean that it’s a calm setting for a spot of fishing at the 15-acre private lake; fishing is for an additional fee, so make sure to arrange it at the reception upon arrival. Non-anglers, meanwhile, can sprawl out in a grassy area for a bit of a chillout session or make a beeline for nearby coastal towns like Hornsea (20 minutes’ drive) and Bridlington (half an hour). Heading to Hull (30 minutes) for the shopping, museums and aquarium also comes much recommended. Pick up essentials in Brandesburton and Leven, a couple of villages around three miles away with supermarkets, a butcher and a deli. For meals, your options include a Chinese takeaway and restaurant, an award-winning fish ‘n’ chip shop and friendly pubs. Not that you’ll need to go far for food: the site has a restaurant and pizzeria as well as a pub serving ales, draught beers, spirits and wines with an open-air terrace looking out across the lake.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (lake view)

Liked Level pitch, clean amenities, dogs welcome even in the clubhouse and restaurant.
The young lady on reception upon arrival was so helpful and friendly (sorry I cannot remember her name), this was our first outing in our motorhome and she explained how everything worked.
Breakfast was lovely, bar and kitchen staff were all welcoming, chatty and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re delighted to hear that your first outing in your motorhome went smoothly and that our reception team were able to make you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you arrived.

It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed your breakfast and that our bar and kitchen staff helped create such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for you (and your dog too!).

We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back again very soon.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (lake view)

Liked Nothing but price

Disliked No space, only two pegs for fishing. Not sure if any fish apart from tiddlers Kids kicked out in the morning and left to constantly bother anglers when all you want is peace. Do not want to babysit other peoples children or grandkids. Defo no carp. Used sonar. Makes out its for anglers, this is not the case for MH /Tourers. Please avoid if you don’t want to be disappointed.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your visit didn’t meet your expectations.

To clarify, our lake is stocked with a variety of species including catfish, tench, roach, bream, perch, eels, carp and pike. While fishing is available as an additional option for our customers, we don’t advertise our park specifically as an angling destination to the public, and so fishing facilities are more limited compared to dedicated fisheries.

Our park is first and foremost a family-friendly site, and we do all we can to ensure children are able to enjoy themselves during their stay. If at any time you felt other guests’ children were causing a nuisance, did you notify reception? We are always happy to address concerns at the time to ensure everyone has the most enjoyable experience possible.

We value all feedback and will continue working hard to provide a welcoming and enjoyable environment for both families and guests who choose to make use of the lake.

A hidden gem.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked The pitch size. The location. The staff. The people. It’s a hidden gem. We loved it.

Disliked Some of the trees could do with pollarding.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the pitch, location, and the warm atmosphere here – it means a lot to us that you consider our park a “hidden gem.”

We also really appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the trees, and we’ll certainly take this on board as we continue to maintain and improve the site.

It’s wonderful to know you found the team exceptional, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (lake view)

Liked Very friendly

Disliked We booked a riverside pitch so we could do some fishing. But we was looking at reeds so had yo ask the people next to us of it was ok to fish in front of there van. In the description of the fishing. They forgot to say they is a bus /caravan and other things sunken in the lake and I don't no how many times we had to set up time and time again. So for me it was not the best place for fishing.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the fishing experience did not meet your expectations. While our riverside pitches are popular with guests who enjoy being close to the water, we understand it can be frustrating when reeds limit access in certain areas.

Our lake is stocked with a mixture of species including catfish, tench, roach, bream, perch, eels, carp, and pike. However, we don’t advertise ourselves as a specialist angling site – fishing is an additional option we provide for our guests rather than the main focus of the park.

We do appreciate your comments about access and obstructions in the water, and this will be reviewed as part of our ongoing site maintenance. Our aim is to provide a relaxing, family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy, and your feedback helps us improve.

We hope you were still able to enjoy the peace and surroundings of the park overall, and we’d be happy to welcome you back in the future.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (lake view)

Liked The lake access for the kayaks is right on your pitch, it's a bigger and deeper lake than we expected and life jackets must be warn even for swimming. You can fish for a reasonable fee.

Showers, toilets, pot wash & launderette close to pitches.

The bar & restaurant are lovely, reasonably price, got set opening times, at the weekends can order breakfast & dinner.

The launderette is new and reasonable priced.

Disliked Pitches are close together but everyone is very friendly.

It's cold water only for pot wash at the moment, while work is being done on the site, hopefully the toilets and showers will get updated soon.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked It was our second trip here and enjoyed the peace and quiet as only 2 on the site then just us on the last night. The pitch was Spacious. Very good value for the price. The toilets still need attention (panel between toilets needs extending lower as can see into next cubicle) but at least this time there was soap & paper towels. Didn't use facilities/bar this time.

Local attractions

Browse Beverley’s traditional market on a Saturday or swing by this town at any time to take in the Gothic minster and catch the horses hightailing it around the racecourse (20 minutes’ drive). It’s also worth setting off towards Skirlington Leisure Park for the famed car boot sale held on Sundays (outside of January) and to stroll through 70 acres of landscaped countryside leading down to the East Yorkshire coast. Further north (around an hour) is the edge of the North York Moors National Park, where rural police show Heartbeat was filmed, and the location of well-known seaside towns such as Scarborough and Whitby (an hour and an hour and a half, respectively). Spend time on the former's sandy beaches before roaming the ruined Gothic abbey – the inspiration for the novel Dracula – in the latter. Another famed urban settlement not to miss is the ancient city of York (an hour and 10 minutes) with its cobbled streets, Viking history and clutch of excellent independent boutiques. Walk along ancient walls circling the buildings, poke around a 13th-century Gothic cathedral with medieval stained glass and bell towers, then meander to the Monk Bar gate for an exhibition on the infamous King Richard III.
