  • Dog-friendly pop-up site on a relaxed family smallholding
  • A 20-minute drive from King’s Lynn; 40 minutes to Snettisham beach
  • Meet resident animals; outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and firewood
Next up: Norfolk? If a rural break in Norfolk is on the agenda, Laurel Tree Fields is a lovely place to set yourself down. The dog-friendly site is in the grounds of a family smallholding, so you’re welcome to meet and greet the resident sheep, goats, alpacas, chickens and ducks (and get involved with hand-feeding the alpacas, goats and sheep if you wish). Only 20 minutes’ drive from King’s Lynn, there are plenty of opportunities for foodies to dive right in. If you’re not full of gourmet eats already, the facilities on site include outdoor kitchen essentials such as a gas barbecue and firepit. The site sells firewood and eggs (mornings sunny side up, yes please…). There’s nothing too fancy about the field and facilities as this is a pop-up site, but everything is clean and functional. Other facilities at your disposal are running water, a portable toilet and wash basin. Spend your eve stargazing by your firepit and spend your mornings watching the goats roll around their playground. There’s no wifi, but most people get decent 4G phone signals. The local pub, restaurants and farm shop are a mile in either direction (around 25 minutes’ walk), and there’s a post office and a small shop 15 minutes’ walk away too. Being easily accessible by major road networks, it’s all rather easy to visit beaches (from 40 minutes’ drive), family attractions and historical sites or find your way over to Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Our stay at Laurel Tree Fields was very enjoyable! The campsite is clean and tidy, the facilities are much better than what was advertised. The owners were incredibly welcoming and let us feed the alpacas. We were provided with a fire pit and all the wood at a small extra cost. From the camping area you can see the alpacas and horses. There aren’t showers available but we were staying for one night so wouldn’t have used them anyway.

Disliked: Can’t fault it.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Everything! Great kitchen and toilet block. Loved that we could have a bbq or fire with bonus that they have fire pits you can borrow and sell logs too! Icing on the cake was the fields of aminals nearby (not a disturbance) and getting a chance to feed the alpacas! Run by a very lovely couple. Highly recommended and we hope to return.

Disliked: For FYI, it's possible to hear the A road from the site. Obviously can't be helped, but bring ear plugs if you're likely to be sensitive to that.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Site was immaculate, hosts were amazing, facilities excellent, animals made the stay more interesting and they were kept really well. I couldn't recommend Denise and Chris site anymore, we will definitely visit again.

Disliked: No shower, but having a clean bathroom was a huge bonus. It would be great to have an outdoor solar one 😌. You can hear the traffic from the main road but it isn't overwhelming and the setting is so nice you don't really think about it.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay here!! We couldn’t fault it. We got to feed the Alpacas, see the goats, sheep and chickens! The site was super clean, with the toilet and washing up section being not too far walk. We had fresh eggs on site to buy, and bought some fire wood which lasted us two days! The owners were so so lovely, making us feel so welcome the second we arrived to when we left. We will be coming back!!

Disliked: Nothing

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: A lovely campsite, the owners are lovely and very welcoming, they made sure we had all we needed. My daughter loved feeding the animals and getting to walk them between pens. We used the fire pit at night which was lovely. The facilities are very basic but we knew that at the time of booking and wanted a night of very basic camping so was ideal for us, they were very clean, well stocked and kept on top of. We had a lovely time just chilling out on this campsite, with lots of space for us to do our own activities. We will defo be visiting again soon.

Disliked: The road was a little noisy at night but I'm a very light sleeper so probably wouldn't bother someone else. No hot water for washing.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review Kerry. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, your daughter certainly loved the animals and took loads of photos. As we are near to the A47, it’s perfect for exploring but sadly some days it can be noisier than others depending on the wind direction. We hope you visit again soon. Denise x

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovely, clean site. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The Alpacas, goats and sheep add to the welcome.

Disliked: No shower or proper flushing toilet. Toilet is a portaporty which is OK for a family but not for shared facilities.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Victoria, Thank you for coming to stay, our first booking, we were very excited! We loved showing you both our animal family & will be improving toilet facilities and installing showers soon. It's a learning curve for us and your feedback is very helpful. Hope you will visit again. Denise x
