  • Peaceful North Norfolk meadow near West Runton Beach
  • Felbrigg Hall and North Norfolk Railway within 10 minutes' drive
  • Communal kitchen; twice-weekly pizza nights on site; firepit hire
A beach, a steam train, a big country house, an old flint church… they’re all typical attractions of North Norfolk, and they're all within 20 minutes’ drive of Gresham Hall Glamping. Suffice to say this pop-up campsite is in a mighty handy location for sightseers. Set in the sleepy village of Aylmerton, home to the flint St John the Baptist church, the site somehow manages to be five minutes’ drive from the National Trust-owned Felbrigg Hall and 10 minutes from the beach while still remaining somewhat hidden from the area's holiday crowds. It’s also got some very handy facilities, which surely seals the deal. Picnic tables are provided for your outdoor evenings. Firepits are available to hire from Gresham Hall Estate, and wood and charcoal are also for sale. Shacks with hot showers and flushing loos are set up in the camping meadow, and guests have access to a communal fridge and microwave in the outdoor kitchen. Drinking water taps are dotted around the camping field, so you'll never go thirsty here. Twice a week it's pizza night, when tasty pizzas are cooked to order using the freshest ingredients – there is, however, a 10pm campsite curfew, so no late-night pizza parties please.

What customers say

Seaside spot, close to beach. Campers love the big pitches, clean loos, and handy fridges. Great for kids with loads of room to play. Some found showers a bit iffy, and queues at busy times. Manager addressing shower temps and bell tent extras. A few grumbles about road noise, farm sounds, and bumpy bits.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)

Liked The site is small and very well maintained. The facilities are excellent including hot showers, flushing loos and a fridge freezer. It was a real bonus that there was also a small climbing frame for our 7 year old to play on. We really liked the fact that there were no cars driving through the pitch area, but parking was close by and trolleys are provided to wheel your tent etc over to the pitch. The site has a lovely calm atmostphere, we pitched our tent in the shade of an oak tree, with a view of white bell tents dotted about in the meadow. We would certainly like to camp there again, and would happily recommend it.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)

Liked We've stayed at Gresham hall campsite twice now as it is a solid spot with very quick access (by car or bicycle) to the beach, woods or Felbrigg hall; slightly further to Sheringham or Cromer. available amenities have consistently been in good order. The site is pleasant.

From the manager: Hi Will,
I'm so pleased you enjoyed our beautiful site and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
Sorry you found the showers too hot, they need to be turned completely on to regulate the temperature. I'll double check the instructions to ensure they are as clear as possible.
Best wishes,
Georgy

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)

Liked Gorgeous campsite, by far the nicest toilets, showers, and facilities we’ve ever experienced while camping. The site is perfect for children, with plenty of space to play safely while still being supervised. The owner was incredibly helpful, arriving within five minutes when we had a small issue. We’ll definitely be returning, and next time we can’t wait to stay in one of the beautiful bell tents!

Georgy

Honeysuckle bell tent

Liked The overall theme Georgy has given the place!Flower names to each pitch, bunting around the inside of the bell tent, attractive outdoor rugs, cute bedside lamps and fairy lights to the entrance. Truly magical finishing touches!

Disliked I dont think it was made clear during booking that we would not have a log burner in our bell tent. Luckily we didn't need it but it was a shame we were unable to use one if we had wanted to.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our bell tents. I apologise that it wasn't clear that Honeysuckle was the only tent without a log burner. I will look into how we can ensure this is more clear in the future.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)

Liked Great location for walking and cycling. Quiet site.
Showers were great, toilets always clean.

Disliked £15 a night to use a fire pit on top of £10 for the wood makes for an expensive fire!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Helen,
I'm so pleased you like the location of our site and enjoyed your stay.
Apologies for any confusion - the fire pits are £15 for your entire stay. We offer logs for sale which we collect, dry and cut from the surrounding estate and charge these at £6 for a half bag and £10 for a full bag. We don't insist that these are used but have them there for the convenience of guests. We also have charcoal for sale too which we get from a local shop and bring to site so that you don't have to leave if you don't want to.
These added extras and just so that guests can enjoy their stay as much as possible.
Many thanks,
Georgy
