River Bank

  • Peaceful adults-only site on the banks of the River Severn
  • Two miles from Worcester city centre; Malvern Hills 15 minutes' drive
  • Fishing on site; riverside walk from site to city centre; near the M5
City strolls or countryside wanders – which one might you fancy while on your Worcestershire break? If the answer is ‘a bit of both, actually’ then you’ll likely find Ketch Caravan Park a most convenient spot indeed. This peaceful adults-only park with spacious pitches is on the banks of the River Severn, around two miles from Worcester city centre. A riverside footpath runs from the site to the city’s shops and attractions; alternatively you can drive it in five minutes or so. As well as providing pleasant strolls into town, the river also supplies a pretty backdrop for the site, with the Malvern Hills visible in the distance (another good place for lovely long stroll, of course). Guests can go fishing in the river directly from the site too. Getting in, out and around to local attractions is very straightforward from here: the park is handily placed close to the A4440 and only a few minutes’ drive from the M5. That makes it both a nifty stopover point on a longer motorway journey and a good place to settle for rural rambles (with a dog, if you’ve got one you’d like to bring along on holiday) and days out visiting the likes of Tewkesbury, Snowshill Manor and Evesham. Barbecues are allowed on site, and there’s a rather handy supermarket just outside the site for supplies if you don’t fancy the trip to town for dinner. As for the site’s own facilities, they include a modern amenities block with showers and toilets including a family room and wet room, a laundry room and a washing-up area. There is also a chemical disposal point on site.

What customers say

Seaside campsite refurbished, near river and town. Guests love spotless facilities, staff, and quiet. Some pitches far from amenities, but improvements made. Occasional road noise but still a grand time.

Electric grass pitch

Liked second visit of the year great location we had a show to see in Worcester city center and was ideal for getting into town , there are lots of amenities close by pub / restaurants and shops and supermarkets with in walking distance

Disliked toilets were clean and adequate but there was a lot of rather large spiders in and around the windows , and because there are no hooks to hang your towels and bag you need to put on window sills, which means you cant be sure what your taking back with you to your van etc. i know this time o year there are insects but may be they could be kept down when cleaning toilets or provide better hooks around vanity areas

Liked Friendly reception. Lent us a hookup cable. Full information of site given on arrival. Clean and tidy site. Spacious pitches. River view.

Disliked I was not happy with showers, but understand there is already a plan to improve these, so this is not a negative.

Liked We were met by Tanya on arrival. My wife agreed with me that in over 10 years of motorhoming it was the most thorough and pleasant greeting we ever had. We could choose whatever plot was free to park our van. Bathroom although small was very clean and there never was a queue for facilities. Being on the Worcester Way we walked along the river to Worcester which is a fantastic experience. You also have the benefits of Aldi just outside the front gates as well as Harvester and Toby Carvery. We will definitely return.

Liked Friendly welcome on arrival. Well maintained site throughout. Spotless shower and toilet block.
The welcome addition of the ramp from the tourer level up to the toilet block has made it so much easier than previous visits.
Such a lovely site, next to the river. Nice walk into Worcester direct from the site along the river.
There is some.traffic noise but evenso the site is peaceful.
The supermarket and B&M closeby are perfect should you forget anything
Lovely weekend, we will definitely be back

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review — it’s always a pleasure to welcome returning guests, and we’re delighted to hear you enjoyed another peaceful stay by the river.

We’re really pleased that you found the site well maintained and the facilities spotless, and it’s great to know the new ramp has made access to the toilet block much easier on your visits. The riverside walk into Worcester is a favourite for many of our guests, so we’re glad you enjoyed it again.

The nearby shops and B&M are certainly handy, and it’s wonderful to hear you had a quiet, relaxing weekend overall.

We really appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back for your next stay.

Warm regards,
Jim & Tanya

Local attractions

Presumably you’ll want to start in Worcester – and that’s a good choice, whether you amble along the riverbank or take the five-minute drive. Once you’re in the city centre, stop by at the cathedral and the Tudor House Museum for a sense of the area’s history and admire the pretty pieces on display at the Museum of Royal Worcester. There’s more history to be explored at places like the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings (20 minutes’ drive), where you can see a collection of restored and rebuilt buildings of various kinds, and the smart Eastnor Castle (half an hour) and Snowshill Manor and Gardens (40 minutes). Meanwhile, music buffs can follow the Elgar Route to take in some of the scenery that inspired the composer and see some of the places where he lived and worked. For some outdoor time, explore the grounds of Spetchley Park Gardens (five minutes), which has been in the same family for over 400 years, or head to the highest point in the Malvern Hills at Worcestershire Beacon (20 minutes).
