General

  • Family-run farm between Malvern and Bromyard, close to Malvern Hills
  • Recreation area, bar, and communal campfire with comfy sofas
  • Weekly campfire nights with stew, marshmallows and hot chocolate

Set in the countryside of Worcestershire and close to the Malvern Hills, Out to Grass is surrounded by fields and has far-reaching scenic views. The farm has been family-run for the past 50 years, is between Malvern and the historic market town of Bromyard, and is mainly arable with a beef herd to graze the pastures.

Regular activities are held in the covered recreation area, and the site also has comfy sofas, a communal kitchen and modern toilet and shower facilities. It's two miles from the nearest shop and pub, although a camp shop and bar are on site. There are pleasant walks through the woodlands from the grounds.

Campfires are allowed, and dogs and kids are welcome (as long as they're kept on leads...). The farm also has a firepit surrounded with comfortable sofas: settle down here to meet resident and friendly dog Rosie, who'll come and keep you company.

A camp stew is cooked up around the communal fire every Friday evening, followed by roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate.

Greeted by extremely friendly and helpful staff and given free reign of where to pitch. As a large group there was plenty of space and we pitched at the top of the hill with a fantastic view. The site was very quiet, in fact I think we made the most noise. The toilets and showers were all within a minute walk from out tent. The showers were very good, nice hot shower and kept pretty clean for a small site. While we visited during the week, there were lots of opportunities for activities and events advertised for the weekend (fire pits, storytelling, live music, djs, food). We got a firepit while we were there which was great in the evenings. Close to local pubs and we had a lovely day at Hampton Court Castle. Even got a Chinese delivery on our last day which came right to the tent!

    Disliked:

While the site was big on recycling, there weren't many bins to recycle. On the day we left, both the cardboard and plastic bins were missing and the general waste bin was a little too small for the whole site to use.

Loved the friendliness of the campsite overall. The bar and fire pits in particular were brilliant! Our son loved the swing and slide on the quiter field too. We didn't get chance to go to the music tent during our stay, but will definitely be returning and spending time in the tent as it sounded fantastic!
