Settle yourselves down here, Shakespeare fans: Dodwell Park is just two miles from Shakespeare’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s cottage and all the bardly attractions of Stratford-upon-Avon. There’s peace, there’s quiet, there’s a countryside setting – and if all that still isn’t enough for a final attempt to get the kids (and dog) reading sonnets, you can culture-ise them by taking them along to nearby Warwick Castle for all sorts of horrible history. Sorted. Dodwell Park is a small family-run site where the amenities are kept to spotless standards, with free hot showers, dishwashing facilities and hairdryers to keep the barnet looking tiptop. A shop and off-licence is on site, and armfuls of leaflets are at the information stand with info on Stratford-upon-Avon and other local tourist attractions. Nearby are Cotswold villages with Shakespearely thatched inns, walks and cruises along the River Avon and the hills of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Boating, fishing and old buildings are at Luddington village about three miles from Dodwell Park. Leaving the car behind to avoid hiking up car parking costs in Stratford? A regular bus service stops right outside the site.

Grand spot, staff are sound and helpful. Handy for Stratford, bus stop outside. Pitches okay, some slopes noted. Facilities clean, showers hot. Shop a bit limited, pitches cosy. Most folks want to come back.

Liked Lovely site, really handy to get into the town. Greeted nicely with lots of useful information regarding bus times and where facilities were located. Nice and clean, appeared very well kept. Only stayed one night, as on our way elsewhere, but would stay there again

Liked Staff wardens greeted us when we arrived and then showed us to our pitch.
The shop on site is only open for 2 hours a day but the warden was more than happy to accommodate us out of hours.
Pitch was good, clean and cut low.
The pitches are on a slight slope but there are bricks on site to support caravan legs if needed.
Shower/toilet block was OK
Will definitely be returning as the whole experience was good.

Liked Well located, about half a mile outside of Stratford upon Avon. A regular bus route right outside the main gate, gives you easy access to both Stratford and Evesham.

We didn't hear any road noise when on the campsite.

A well maintained site, with a good meet and greet at reception and a shop with limited items but very handy for the core essentials.

Pitches are slightly sloped but manageable. Facilities are basic but clean and tidy. Showers were hot and toilet block maintained to a good standard. EHU and other services all positioned well.

If you're after priversy then this sit isn't for you as pitches are close together. However, if.you like to people watch and have a chat then it's perfect.

Overall, we would recommend this site.

Liked Friendly staff, good location and the facilities were clean

Disliked Not really disliked but pitches were pretty close together. Issue with electric supply on morning of leaving but it didn’t hugely affect us.

Liked Convenient for bus stop to Stratford

Disliked Pitches very close together and most of them on significant slopes - even our ramps on max height couldn’t level the Motorhome. No wi-fi available and poor mobile signal.
Very open - more like a car park ! Left a day early ….

Many companies offer cruises along the Avon, but to save pennies take a trip on the old chain ferry for 20p, or stay on land and take the mile and a quarter route along the Avon for views of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare’s burial place Holy Trinity Church and the Memorial Theatre Gardens. Scores of other walks can be had in the Cotswolds, the biggest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England, with miles’ worth of footpath and bridleways broken up by small villages and market towns.
