  • Family-run site with on-site fishing and a café
  • Steps from the Shropshire Union Canal
  • Adults-only and dog-friendly; canalside for dog walks
If you had thoughts on an ideal setting for a hol between England and Wales, Hadley Park might well be it. It's in the Shropshire countryside on the border with Wales, next to the Shropshire Union Canal, and a handsomely scenic walk from Whitchurch, Shropshire's oldest market town. Hadley Park is a family-owned and run site that's set up for adults only. It has a small pond where guests can fish – for a fee; a big sundeck overlooking the pond, and a fully licensed on-site café serving fresh local produce. You can also have your hair smartened up in the Hadley Park salon: just enquire when booking using the details in your booking confirmation email. Amenities include a launderette and a washing-up area; there's also a chemical disposal point, and a modern well-kept toilet and shower block with disabled facilities. The park is adults-only and welcomes well-behaved dogs. A service station with fast food and coffee outlet is 400 yards away.

Pool view non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Everything about the site.Super clean and well maintained.Very friendly and close to all you need for a relaxing break.Nice walk along the canal,or a spot of fishing on the sites exclusive lake.I would highly recommend this site to anybody looking for a relaxing ,peaceful stay. Also if you fancy a takeaway there is a cafe on site,or a local takeaway that delivers to the site entrance..Perfect

Disliked Nothing to dislike. If I was being picky it would be a toilet block would be nice on the motorhome field to save a walk in the night.

Non-electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Every thing, great spotlessly clean toilet block, hot free showers, facilties in the toilet block for washing dishes, good location for visiting Whitchurch, good fishing lake, great cafe for breakfast, lovely view of lake from motorhome hard standing pitch.

Disliked Electric hook up on pitch would have been a bonus but no real hardship as toilet block was only 10 yards away.

Basic but exactly what I wanted. Clean facilities and comfortable bed.

Local attractions

Staying close to home from Hadley Park, the old Shropshire town of Whitchurch is less than a mile away, and the walks of the Sandstone Trail as well as the hacks of the Bishop Bennet Way are easily accessible via the Shropshire and Union Canal on site. Elsewhere, several famed Shropshire and Cheshire sights are within 20 miles of the park, like Chester Cathedral and the city's Roman ruins and amphitheatre; Chester Zoo and Chester Racecourse; the fab follies of Hawkestone Park, and the llamas, alpacas and 50 acres of greenery of Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Nearby Shrewsbury is famed for its annual flower show and for its Darwin Trail commemorating the life and work of evolution dude Charles Darwin who was born in the town. More modernly, a good range of plays are held at the new Severn Theatre and several riverside pubs and restaurants are around at which to while the night away. The bars, cafés and independent shops of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Llangollen are within driving distance: other top town picks are a picnic in Riverside Park, a stroll along Victoria Promenade, and a steam straight ahead on the Llangollen Railway.
