You don’t have to be miles away from everything to sample a little slice of rural splendour. Godwin’s Caravan and Camping has level grass pitches, far-reaching country views, and resident cattle, sheep and horses (if you’re lucky, you might also catch a glimpse of the hedgehogs that scuttle about the place). What’s more, it is dead easy to access via the M40 and the A34 – it sits on the outskirts of Weston-on-the-Green (a 10-minute walk), not-quite-halfway between Bicester (10 minutes’ drive) and Oxford (25 minutes). Let the kids have a bit of a runaround on the field while you locate the toilet/shower block (with facilities for disabled guests, too) and the café, which serves hot food (including all-day breakfasts), cakes and coffees, plus home-made ice cream in a wide range of flavours. Then it’s off to explore the local area – perhaps via the village pub, which is a five-minute walk away down the B430. If you have your four-legged companion with you, head to Kirtlington Quarry (10 minutes), with woodland and waterside walks; to Merton Woodlands (15 minutes) or to the dog park in Lower Arncott (15 minutes), where it can run off the lead. Birdwatchers, meanwhile, make a beeline for RSPB Otmoor (20 minutes), an area of wetlands that is home to marsh harriers and lapwings, as well as hares and lizards. Come dinner time, the pub might exert its lure again, or you might want to start a barbecue. Provisions can be sourced from the village shop or from a supermarket on the A34 (10 minutes).

  • Bookings must not be for more than 27 consecutive nights.
  • The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.
  • A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Minimum spacing of 6 metres between pitches.
  • If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.
  • Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
  • There is no reception on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.
  • The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on site.

Liked Location- stayed here as wanted somewhere close to Blenheim Palace. Perfect as 15 min drive. Toilet / Showers so clean and user friendly. Lovely flat pitches ans so quiet. Great pub 5 mins walk that do amazing Jacket Potatoes. Beautiful hotel across the road for lovely meals. Onside cafe was a wonderful little gem with too good to miss icecreams. Really couldn't fault the site. Will defibe returning.

Disliked Too close to Bicester Village so obviously had to do some shopping 😂

A perfect traveling stop over.

Liked Good flat pitches in a nice field and well laid out. We booked at short notice so had a non ehu pitch. These aren’t marked out so you can park where you like which was good. The ehu pitches are marked out.

Modern and clean toilet and shower block with two showers and two toilets (plus urinals in the men’s) in each of the men’s and women’s and a separate disabled toilet and shower.

The onsite cafe looked very popular and is a great asset to have. Hana was very helpful sending a text with arrival instructions along with other info for our stay.

Good location for access to attractions in the surrounding area (NT Waddesdon Manor, Blenheim Palace, Rousham Gardens to name a few). Lovely clean well cared for site.

Disliked Not really a dislike more observations the A34 is quite noisy as others have mentioned however it didn’t bother us too much and we slept well but might not suit others. The addition of a blade type mop to clean the shower floor after use would be good as the floor was quite wet most of the time.

Nice facilities, shame about the road noise

Liked Great site for a one or two night stopover if travelling a long journey. Very clean and good condition toilets and showers. Lots of space on the park which was generally looked well maintained. Elec hook up. No complicated barriers or gates to navigate through, which when arriving late was reassuring. Good comms from Site management.

Disliked Pitch could have done with a quick strim! Had to step around long weeds and nettles around the campervan pitch I was issued. The rest of the site was immaculate so this really stood out.

A little background noise from the dual carriageway nearby but nothing excessive but not the site for you if you are looking for no traffic noise.

No site WiFi signal that i could find.

Not sure it's a site to spend a holiday at...!

Liked It did everything the was advertised in pitchups Web site, the land was flat which is a thumbs up,the toilet/shower block was faultless (a bonus with my wife) all in all very happy.

Liked Excellent facilities with an impeccably clean toilet & shower block with super outside washing up sinks.

Disliked Only negative is the A34 road noise, but great location for access to Oxford etc.

All good, we stopped on our way to our destination and on way back

Good location to the M40

Disliked Not much of a dislike, maybe that we couldn’t find it, but we couldn’t find where the grey water got disposed of ? so we had to lift it to empty down chemical toilet waste
