Lovely, peaceful spot with a stream for kids to play. Friendly staff and a great family vibe. Facilities are basic & need updating, sometimes crowded or not well kept. Some road noise.

Beautiful location and will definitely return one day.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Stunning place, the photos don’t do it justice at all. The stream is perfect for kids to play in and there is so much to keep them busy. It was really hot when we stayed but there are plenty of trees to keep shade and the temperature down. Showers were decent too. There were a lot of negative reviews I read before, but I was pleasantly surprised and we had a great experience. I can see why it is a wedding venue. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked The fridges in the kitchen area were not very cold, but better than nothing.

Nottinghamshires, best kept secret!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked What a unique, magical place. Clean toilets and showers, great washing up facilities. Simple and perfect. Loved the bar, in a cave and the crystal clear brook for bathing and water swings.

Absolutely stunning location, river running through…
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Absolutely stunning location, river running through which is shallow and clear for the kids to play in. 2 small play areas kept kids entertained for ages. Plenty of attractions locally but we barely left the sight as the kids loved it. Loose chickens too which we loved and farm animals in the field beside it.
Disliked Very paticular where we could pitch, of course it's the owners site and she's entitled to allocate people, we would of just preferred more choice in where we pitch as we prefer to be out of the way rather than in the middle, but our pitch was still stunning next to the river.
Cave bar closed, shame it's not open more as the little bar area is comfortable and it's always good to be able to buy refreshments on site if needs be.

Clean facilities.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked I love bringing my little boy to the old vicarage this year was our 3rd year and as always we had a lovely time! The perfect balance between relaxing/down time and freedom for children to play and explore the surroundings.
Disliked The only niggle I have is the 2nd night of our stay some new campers arrived who were very loud and didn’t respect the 11pm quiet time curfew they were up with music playing and shouting early hours in the morning which did disturb us and other campers around us with kids/young children However this isn’t down to the site but I feel the site rules could be implemented better as the owner does live on site they must of heard the noise too.

Lovely as usual
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked This was our 4th or maybe 5th visit and we keep returning because we love the scenery and peaceful atmosphere and our son really loves playing in the stream, on the trampoline, and chatting to the chickens. The cave bar was open this time, and it was a lovely cosy spot to enjoy a drink.
Disliked This time we were charged £15 for a firepit, none of which is now refunded. That didn't include the wood. This seems really steep, especially when we only stayed one night. And we had to lug the firepit and wood to the far end of the campsite ourselves, whereas in previous years they delivered it to our pitch in the carts. Otherwise, no complaints! :)
