  • A 30-acre dog-friendly site a five-minute drive from Burgh le Marsh
  • Skegness and the coast 10 minutes’ drive; Louth half an hour
  • Four well-stocked fishing lakes; dog walks around the park perimeter
Feeling ready for some vitamin sea? Pull in at Sycamore Lakes Touring Site in Lincolnshire, 10 minutes' drive away from the Skegness seafront. There’s also a bus stop just outside the park with hourly buses to Skegness if you don’t want to get behind the wheel for such a short trip. You’ll hardly have to drive if you don’t fancy it, as the pitches also have access to a footpath through the back fields to the village of Burgh le Marsh. In the village, there is a heritage centre with a windmill and a restaurant, butchers, a post office, a bakery, pubs and a few small shops. It’ll take you under 20 minutes to get there on foot. Just watch, as a day can fly by at Sycamore Lakes Touring Site. The 30 acres of well-landscaped grounds have hundreds of mature trees and five lakes, including four well-stocked fishing lakes. There are excellent dog walks around the park perimeter and to the village. The grounds also have The Lakes Restaurant, which is already popular with locals. If you do want to scout out what’s further afield, there are five golf courses within a short drive of the site. Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve is a 20-minute drive away, and it’s a five-minute drive to the very edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape, which has pretty villages and stunning walks.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Really nice site , pitch was big enough and more. Had a really great time some of my family stayed there as well and we all really enjoyed it. I’m not a fisherman but they had a few lovely lakes and a lot wer using them.

Disliked: The sinks for washing up to low hurts u back. Also hot tap u had to hold down to get to stay on but tap became red hot so very difficult to fill sink. But everything was really gud apart from them little issues but definitely did nt effect my stay . Could do with a little park for the kids

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: First impression was great . Receptionist was helpful , gave us our site map and a bus timetable, as we planned on using public transport while staying . Our pitch was huge , clean and everywhere tidy and well maintained. We were close to the shower/facilities block , very handy . These were clean and warm , music playing too . We were given an access code for these facilities but didn't need it as door was never locked . The fishing lakes are lovely , you can stroll around them , loads of baby ducklings to see . Always someone fishing , living their best life . Had a relaxed atmosphere. Dogs are very welcome , on leads . Our 2 had a great time . There is a restaurant on site, The Lakes , we used this twice , booked a table in the bar as we had dogs , wow , we loved the food , the welcome and service . We got a takeaway pizza another time, it was perfect, loads of choice for toppings and big . The restaurant is a great asset to the site . Booking a table in the bar with dogs or restaurant area is advisable as its open to the public too , it was well supported during our stay . The bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the site . We took it to Horncastle for a day out , nice little town , full of antique shops which we love looking around, our dogs were welcome too . All in all we had a very enjoyable stay .

Disliked: I wish I had booked a grass electric pitch , not hardstanding as the area for grass pitch is stunning . It has its own beautiful pond and trees and still close to the amenities block . I know for next time !
Wifi was poor , but not the end of the world.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: Friendly reception lady
Peaceful and quiet, nice large pitches, out of season in May, so very quiet, good value for money, we stayed with EHU, we were able to take our dog too, we will rebook in the future.

Disliked: Nothing really, a little niggle more waste bins around the site would be helpful especially with dogs

From the manager: Many thanks for your kind review, also thanks for mentioning the bins we like constructive suggestions so many thanks!

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: Very tidy, well looked after. Shower block was clean and tidy, nice hot showers.
Reception were very friendly and obliging.
Water and waste water was just behind my pitch.

Disliked: Dogs not on leads. Football being played around caravans. One hit the sil of our caravan.
Didn't see anywhere for children to play. (There might of been, but I didn't see anything).

Liked: Loved this campsite. Lovely big flat pitches with plenty of space between them. Lovely fishing lakes for those that fish and a super restaurant in site with a bar for a drink if that all you want. The staff in both the restaurant and reception were welcoming and happy to help. Bus stop outside the camp into Skegness . So good we have booked to come back again

Local attractions

In addition to wide expanses of sand, Skegness (10 minutes' drive) has the seafront Pleasure Beach, an amusement park with a Ferris wheel and thrill rides. If roller coasters are not your speed, try the attractions at Skegness Pier (from escape rooms to climbing walls), or head to Natureland Seal Sanctuary, where you can also see penguins and meerkats. With a thrice-weekly market, lively Louth (half an hour) is a good spot to stock up on artisanal foodstuffs. Just west of the town is Hubbard’s Hills, a lush park popular for picnics on the banks of the River Lud. Louth is also the gateway to the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape. The university city of Lincoln (an hour) has an imposing Gothic cathedral dating back to the 11th century, and a castle commissioned by William the Conqueror. Walk along the ramparts for splendid views of the city, or climb up the appropriately named Steep Hill, a cobbled street lined with stone cottages and independent shops.
