  • A 30-acre dog-friendly site a five-minute drive from Burgh le Marsh
  • Skegness and the coast 10 minutes’ drive; Louth half an hour
  • Four well-stocked fishing lakes; dog walks around the park perimeter
Feeling ready for some vitamin sea? Pull in at Sycamore Lakes Touring Site in Lincolnshire, 10 minutes' drive away from the Skegness seafront. There’s also a bus stop just outside the park with hourly buses to Skegness if you don’t want to get behind the wheel for such a short trip. You’ll hardly have to drive if you don’t fancy it, as the pitches also have access to a footpath through the back fields to the village of Burgh le Marsh. In the village, there is a heritage centre with a windmill and a restaurant, butchers, a post office, a bakery, pubs and a few small shops. It’ll take you under 20 minutes to get there on foot. Just watch, as a day can fly by at Sycamore Lakes Touring Site. The 30 acres of well-landscaped grounds have hundreds of mature trees and five lakes, including four well-stocked fishing lakes. There are excellent dog walks around the park perimeter and to the village. The grounds also have The Lakes Restaurant, which is already popular with locals. If you do want to scout out what’s further afield, there are five golf courses within a short drive of the site. Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve is a 20-minute drive away, and it’s a five-minute drive to the very edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape, which has pretty villages and stunning walks.

Liked Very good restaurant/ bar, pitch was good & staff were friendly

Disliked The large bins for rubbish next to the shower block were overflowing when we arrived, we were there for 3 nights & the piles of rubbish were getting worse & was making visiting the shower block very unpleasant.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your kind review! In relation to the bins we agree we did have an issue with the local refuse company letting us down, this has now been resolved, apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused you during your stay.

Liked We had the most magical stay at Sycamore Lakes Touring Site — a true hidden gem that exceeded all our expectations.

Travelling with friends and our children (aged 9, 7, and 3), we found everything we could have hoped for and more. The setting is simply breathtaking — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by nature. The calmness of the lakes, the fresh air, and the open space created a perfect backdrop for a relaxing and joyful escape from the chaos of everyday life.

The facilities were spotless and thoughtfully designed — you can tell that everything has been created with care. Whether it was the cleanliness of the bathrooms, the availability of hot water, or the ease of pitching tents, everything worked seamlessly.

What truly made it unforgettable, however, were the people. Everyone we met — both staff and fellow guests — was incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming. It felt like a little community where everyone respects the space and each other. We felt safe, happy, and completely at ease — especially important when travelling with young children.

This site is the perfect combination of simplicity and comfort, and its location is ideal for exploring Skegness while still feeling tucked away in your own peaceful retreat.

We’ve made memories here that we will cherish for years to come. We’re already planning our next trip back — this place has our hearts.

Thank you, Sycamore Lakes, for everything.

Liked What a hidden gem! Completely gorgeous little site that just promotes everything about camping!

We were at the back by a hedge and had a super huge space! Not packed in like some places. The lady who greeted us at reception was ace and very helpful. Was super hot last weekend and she even went so far as telling us about a shaded walk so we could walk the pup not in the blistering heat. Fishing lakes really nice. And restaurant on site has killer air con! Toilet and shower block nice and clean.

Disliked Toilet and shower block were closed for cleaning 2 hours on Sunday 7-9 which isn’t ideal when checkout is 10am but it’s more of a bug bare than a dislike. There was 1 disabled shower and toilet to use.

From the manager: Many thanks for your very kind review, we really appreciate it being such a small team here at the Lakes, I will pass on your review to them too!
In relation to the amenity block being closed early on that Sunday morning, this was a one off, our lady had other commitments later that day so sneaked in early to clean the block, apologies for that!

Local attractions

In addition to wide expanses of sand, Skegness (10 minutes' drive) has the seafront Pleasure Beach, an amusement park with a Ferris wheel and thrill rides. If roller coasters are not your speed, try the attractions at Skegness Pier (from escape rooms to climbing walls), or head to Natureland Seal Sanctuary, where you can also see penguins and meerkats. With a thrice-weekly market, lively Louth (half an hour) is a good spot to stock up on artisanal foodstuffs. Just west of the town is Hubbard’s Hills, a lush park popular for picnics on the banks of the River Lud. Louth is also the gateway to the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape. The university city of Lincoln (an hour) has an imposing Gothic cathedral dating back to the 11th century, and a castle commissioned by William the Conqueror. Walk along the ramparts for splendid views of the city, or climb up the appropriately named Steep Hill, a cobbled street lined with stone cottages and independent shops.
