Hexham, Northumberland, England
Valley View primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Friendly owner, the site was well maintained, price was OK, facilities were clean.
Disliked Checking in time is a little restrictive. Sloping field. The nicer of the 2 bathrooms is not available between 10pm and 8am.

Primitive grass tent campsite (two person)
Liked Clean and modern facilities, flat pitch, well maintained, lots of hot water, nice pub, convenient check in hours, nice surroundings and an excellent price for 2 person tent with car.
Disliked Showers are fiddly to work.

Ilfracombe, Devon, England
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Price was reasonable and plenty of space.
Disliked Freezer was not freely available you had to ask to freeze ice blocks which was a bit inconvenient. We were placed in a field far away from the bathroom which was a bit of a trek. Grass was very long. Bathrooms were not regularly cleaned. No hand drying facilities (i.e. no electricity in bathroom).

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Nice clean facilities and the lady in reception was very accomodating when we asked to move pitches to be closer to the bathroom. The surrounding area of Skipsea is lovely.
Disliked Nothing, would return.

Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The site is close to the centre of Scarborough (around a 10-15 min drive). The facilities are nice and clean. There is an on-site bar.
Disliked The slope of the field and the fact that showers are payable (20p for 2 mins)

Whitby, North Yorkshire, England
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great view. Nice set up for the toilet block, as the shower, toilet and sink are private. There is a small kitchen area with fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and a few sockets to charge your phone, etc.
Disliked Shower is not very powerful at all. Having to park the car away from the tent and carry everything to the pitch. Part of the site is on a slope, but there are flat areas.

From the manager: Thank you for reviewing our site; I'm sorry you experienced low pressure in our showers, unfortunately no-one had made us aware of a problem, now we know, we have fixed the issue and the showers are back up to full pressure again. We are in the process of levelling out our whole site so I hope you will return next year to see how we have improved!
Norwich, Norfolk, England
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Really enjoyed our 1 night stay here and would happily return if in the area in future.
The shower and toilet facilties were nice and clean and the shower had good pressure.
The site was easy to find and access and the other guests were very quiet, although the site was not too busy, as it was mid-week. The price was good.
The lady owner was very friendly.
The 1 star rating for wifi is actually an error that I don't know how to remove, as I clicked on it by mistake. I don't know if there was wifi available on the site, as we used our own mobile data. The signal was good, btw.
Disliked Nothing.

Hereford, Herefordshire, England
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Ease of booking on the PitchUp website. The camp site was easy to find and was very clean and tidy. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained with 2 toilets and 2 showers in each men/women section. There was an abundance of hot water. There is a small bar area (not open when we were there on a Friday night though) and a washing up area with fridge. I noticed there was wifi available, but did not use it, so cannot say if the reception was good or bad.
The camping space is a large field for adults only and fellow campers were very friendly and kept noise to a minimum.
There was no-one there to check us in when we rang the video doorbell, so we just drove in. From what we could see on the booking calendar, camping is only available on weekends. The price was good for the facilities provided and we would stay there again if in the area.
Disliked Road noise, but we slept with earplugs in and were not disturbed during the night.
Could not adjust the hot water in the ladies showers, so the water was far too hot for me and some of the other ladies I spoke to. Seemed that the adjuster tap on the right hand side was stuck at one temperature. The lady in the next shower said it was the same in hers.

Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Wales
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Nice location close to Colwyn Bay. Lots of space to pitch our tent. Friendly check in staff. Could park right next to our tent. The other campers around us were very quiet and considerate. There was a toilet block (separate male and female sides) and separate unisex shower block. Always hot water in both the showers and sinks in the toilet. Toilet paper and soap always available too. Paid laundry area. The price per night was reasonable.
Disliked Very hard to take a shower, as the shower push button had no timer on it and you had to keep one hand constantly on it to activate the water. The toilet and shower blocks could use an refurb, as they were very dated.
