What customers say
Beautiful scenery and views. Clean facilities, including a shared kitchen. Great location for Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, and Falling Foss. Site is sloped, which can affect pitching. Some mention limited shower/toilet cubicles at busy times; improvements planned. Peaceful spot, friendly hosts; many want to return.

Liked Loved the location to use as a base for exploring the coast and Yorkshire moors. Laura(host) great comms and super helpful and friendly. There is a trailer serving hot drinks and snacks on site which was also great.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The view was lovely, amenities were good and the coffee van was a nice touch.
Disliked We had a large tent and could only pitch up on the hill which made things quite difficult for us, especially with a toddler. We all ended up at the bottom of our beds. If there were more flat pitches it would have been perfect but hnfortbaly this did effect our stay

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Beautiful location and very quiet. Short drive to Whitby and Robinhood bay. The 2 extra toilets were really helpful and it’s always kept clean.
There is also a small van by the site selling fresh coffee each day and snacks which is really lovely.
I like the left over food box in the kitchen for people to leave the extra unwanted food there to avoid waste. I didn’t use it but I think it’s a great idea.
Disliked The camp site is on a slop and not very big so it’s a bit tricky to find a nice view spot.
And the facilities are on the top of a steep hill so it’s quite tiresome to use the showers/kitchen each time.
There are 4 shower units all together, and two with toilet integrated so if the site is busy you will have to wait. There was a large group came while we camped and it was a bit of a struggle at times especially toilets are often wet in the shower as people don’t wipe off the water after shower.
Also phone signal is really weak. We can’t get much 4G/5G the whole time. You will need to be in the car park area or climb to the hill top to get some internet. But if you are there to have a digital detox holiday then that’s not a bad thing!

Would definitely go back
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The shared kitchen and the showers were clean and modern the shower was a good temperature and the kitchen had two fridges and kettle and toaster which were a god send when we were not allowed a camp fire.
Disliked No camp fire or bbq allowed for cooking which can be essential for some

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The amenities block with the kitchen was very useful if not wanting to be entirely self sufficient. There are also a good amount of toilets and showers for the campsite ( 4 toilets and 4 showers) so one is normally free. Very good distance to surrounding areas such as Whitby, Goathland or Hayburn Wyke.

Gorgeous place to camp for couples or solo travellers.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great site, lovely host, amazing views and close to the waterfall. Facilities were clean and parking was easy.
Disliked Wheelbarrows monopolised by some campers as storage until the Sunday so they could carry things back easily, road in was uneven but manageable, children and dogs quite loud overnight.

Liked Toilets, showers and kitchen really clean. Lovely location, rural but close to lots to do. Nice vibe on site.
Disliked Limited flat pitches for bigger tents but we did ok due to getting there on a Thursday and had a perfect spot. Would return!
