From the manager: Thank you for your review and kind words about our friendly team, spacious pitches, and riverside access! We're sorry the road noise impacted your stay; while our entrance sits on the main road for easy access to town, our touring and camping areas are tucked away toward the back of the park to help minimize traffic sound. We wish you all the best in your future travels. Warm Regards The Coldstream Team

Liked The park is clean and very well maintained, pitches were level and spacious. And all I can say about the showers is WOW... they definitely live up to the reviews... they are the best campsite showers I have ever used!
The park also backs onto an unused golf course which was great for letting the dogs run off lead
The young lad James was very welcoming on our arrival.
Disliked The clubhouse/bar is only open at weekends
Some pitches are close to the main road which can be very noisy.

Liked Proximity to Stonehenge
Basic site with all amenities required but I can not comment on these as we are self contained and used our own facilities.
They did have issues with the toilets but was quickly resolved.
Very friendly staff and received a nice welcome on arrival.
Campfires and BBQ's allowed
Easy walk into villages in either direction.

Liked Spacious level pitches, Dog wash facilities were amazing , lovely nature walk for the dogs and the secure dog field was brilliant for letting the dogs burn off energy off lead. There are actually 2 off lead areas for the dogs but only 1 is secure
The site is next to the river which was great for the dogs to cool off in during the hot weather.
It was only a 5-10 min walk into the village which has 2 pubs and cafe.

From the manager: Thank you for the kind review. It sounds like you had the break away that you needed. Its great to hear you all had a good time including the dogs with the use of the dog field and the river running along the park, it is certainly brilliant this time of year. Hopefully we will see you again soon.
Low Bentham, North Yorkshire, England
FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Very friendly welcome from the owner of this little gem of a stop-over. Pitches well laid out and very spacious fully serviced with grey waste and water tap. Elsan waste available too.
As mentioned in listing there are no toilets or shower blocks but if you are self contained like us then this is irrelevant. From the site it is a 10 minute walk into Lower Bentham and a wonderful community run pub The Punchbowl. Very friendly welcome from the locals and very dog friendly... we just had drinks but the food looked and smelt delicious with what looked like very generous portions...
25 mins in the opposite direction from the site is High Bentham with various shops and a few more pubs.
All in all the owner has created a peaceful site, ideally located for the perfect stopover.

Liked Clean facilities, large pitches but not what we originally booked. Owner James was very friendly but unfortunately I felt our arrival was a little of an inconvenience for Alex. We arrived early on Sunday afternoon and waited approx 10-15 mins for someone to attend to check us in and after ringing the bell twice, I was greeted by Alex who was friendly enough but seemed in a rush to get back to whatever she was doing before I disturbed her... she quickly showed me around all the facilities...whilst my husband was still waiting in our motorhome to get through the barrier... she then buzzed him through and pointed us to our pitch which was just opposite the reception block, away from all the other caravans and tents and was a mix of hardstanding and grass ( i had booked electric grass pitch) and went on her way without giving us the access codes for the barrier ( I got them from another customer)
Also whilst the advert states they accept motorhomes, we felt they were more equipped for caravans who have separate waste tanks as there was no drive over drainage for emptying our grey water but the elsan disposal was one the better that I have used... and as such we had to drive to our next site with a tank full of grey waste..We were the only motorhome on site...
The dog walking field was good and despite the traffic noise it was a peaceful site...
Maybe I had higher expectations for the site due to the reviews but feel this site was just not for us.
Disliked The location of the site meant that you required a vehicle as nothing is close by or within walking distance. Whilst not the sites fault, the roads leading to the site are the worst roads we have ever driven on ( and we are from Scotland where potholes are a normal occurrence on any journey) they were full of cracks, dips, bumps, uneven surfaces that it is beyond me how anyone could drive along them without damage to their vehicle. The national speed limit on the roads in question is 60mph but we could not ho any faster than 30mph max unless we wanted to cause serious damage to our motorhome.
The pitch we were allocated was not the pitch we booked ( electric grass pitch) and was away from all other people so didn't even get the chance to socialise/mingle with others, it was also very close to the road which although not very busy was noisy at times due to vehicles flying past....
The clubhouse/bar and food van mentioned in the advert is only open at weekends... think that needs to be made clearer in the description
The water pressure from the filling tap by reception was very poor and took around 20 mins to fill our water tank from empty and we were blocking other residents from getting past. Thankfully they were understanding.
The bins were also overflowing and appears they may not have enough bins for the amount of people staying there.

Liked Fantastic peaceful site close to Kinross. Very friendly owner. Main attraction for us was the fact they allow tents, BBQ's & campfires. They managed to accommodate us all in the same area. Lovely dog walk on site where dogs were able to run free.
This was a birthday trip with our adult sons and we all had a wonderful trip.Wewill most definitely be back.

Liked Very friendly warden who gave us a lovely welcome on arrival.
The location of the park was handy for heading into the town centre which unfortunately was sadly as run down as most high streets these days with many shops closed/up for sale or to let so not much to do/see in town centre.
The view over the harbour was nice and closeness to the beach was great for the dog to run about and get rid of some energy...
Local chip shop delivers to your pitch which was handy....food was tasty too.
Site itself was clean, tidy and the grounds around the static caravans appeared well maintained, except for the glass all over the gravel sea view pitches.
Can't comment on the toilet block or facilities as we didn't use them. Felt the price was expensive for what we got ....
Disliked The gravel pitch was covered in bits of glass... all over the pitch, not just in one area.. so we had to be very careful with our puppy to make sure he didn't get any shards in his paws. This spoilt what could be a lovely sea view pitch. Also couldn't get connected to site WiFi in sea view pitch.
Felt the price was expensive for what we got .... Also felt the pitches were too close together and certainly not worth £35 per night for technically just a parking spot with an electric hook up.

Liked Lovely well laid out site. Although close to the road no road noise was heard.
Did not use the facilities other than chemical disposal as we had on board facilities so can't comment on them but from what I saw they looked very clean. Very welcoming staff who were very friendly and walked us to our pitch which I thought was a nice touch.

Disliked Overpriced for what was essential a gravel car park with electric hook up. Fine if you were absolutely stuck for the night but definitely would not recommend a hard standing pitch.

Liked Peaceful site close to Aysgarth Falls and church. In grounds of Hotel. Good selection of drinks in bar. Had issues with a local bothering some of the people staying in the campsite but the manager dealt with it efficiently and without any great drama.
Disliked Very basic site. Large gravel hardstanding pitches. Some of the gravel were like bolders that you could do yourself an injury if you went over them. We didn't need to use the site Toilets and showers and although they are in garden sheds like others mention, they appeared clean and I saw staff from the hotel doing daily clean/checks.
