Liked Great team who welcomed us and were friendly and approachable at all times. Lovely site - pitch good, electric hook up - although busy site was quiet after 10pm. Clean and tidy- lovely to see a working farm - within a one mile walk a great vineyard - wine tasting, cheese platters, coffee and cake and a dog space to rent on an hourly basis- also had well stocked shop - showers good. Our dog loved the site too 🐶 great wifi.
Disliked Road to site has potholes - this has been reported by us and others to local council- who have responded hopefully they will have actioned by our next visit.

Liked A great campsite with nice isolated pitches. Some for individual vans, and other for 2 vans. Excellent shower block layout, although the water temperature of the showers was a bit on the hot side and there was no adjustment. The George is a lovely pub adjacent to the site with friendly staff.

Liked We loved our glamping pod. It was very nicely furnished, cosy and comfortable. Lovely views in a rural location. Also on site there is a farm shop and a very nice tea room.

Liked My wife and I, together with our little dog, had a lovely stay at this beautiful campsite in our little campervan. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a great nights rest on this quiet dark site, perfect for stargazing whenever the clouds part. We had a coffee and a bacon bap in the little on-site café on the morning of our departure to send us on our way.

Liked I can't think of anything I didn't like. Great fully serviced level grass pitch near the toilet and showers. Toilet and shower block very clean and good quality. Great washing up area. We very much enjoyed the Steak on a stone evening meal we booked at the on-site café, as well as our breakfasts there each morning. This is a lovely quiet site and we'll definitely be staying again.

Liked Good roads to the site. Wide open spaces. Good pitch size. Lovely quiet site. All staff very friendly and helpful, particularly the wardens who went out of their way to look after us. Excellent onsite café. Good 4g signal on Vodafone. Toilet and shower block excellent, probably among the very best we've seen. Washing machine available. There is also a jacuzzi/infinity pool available to book, which we may try next time. Great dog walking field, but unfortunately no where to let our pup chase his ball off-lead. Great pub which serves food, under a mile away, easy walking distance, but need to cross a busy road, and some of the lane to the pub has no footpath just grass verge.

Liked Good roads to the site. Wide open spaces. Big pitch size. Lovely walks around the various angling lakes. Friendly staff. Excellent onsite café. Good 4g signal on Vodafone. Toilet and shower block good, but could do with some refurbishment. Great dog walking field where our pup could chase after his ball off-lead. 2 mile walk into Sandwich, or bus route nearby.

Liked For us, this is probably the best site we've stayed at so far. Well maintained pitches, lovely toilet and shower block with very good showers. Nice café on-site, where you can order a breakfast for the following day. A few nice areas on-site where we could walk our dog. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. The site is in a lovely area with lots to see and do nearby. Good phone signal on Vodafone. The site was nearly full, yet it was mainly quiet and peaceful. All in all we had a lovely stay. We would highly recommend this site, and will definitely return.
Disliked Nothing. Everything was great.

Liked This was a lovely site, with very well maintained and good size pitches. Great views and very quiet and peaceful. Very good facilities for larger motor homes and caravans. We had a lovely stay.
Disliked The only reason for us not giving a 5 star rating was the limitations of the toilet and showers. There were only 2 blocks on site, each with a single toilet and a single shower. The quality of the showers was excellent, but I feel they need a couple more. Also while we were there the hot water system in one of the toilet/shower blocks stopped working, so the site was down to only one toilet and shower block with hot water. I can see this would not be an issue for campers with their own toilet and showers, which the site caters for very well. We don't have toilet or shower facilities in our small camper van, so it was a problem for us. There were a couple of times when several people were queuing to use the shower. In may opinion the site needs another couple of toilet and shower blocks, then it would definitely be 5 star.

From the manager: Hi Frank, thanks for your review, the shower was out of action for 2 days due to an issue with the boiler,it's now been fixed, regarding having more shower blocks it would be something I would consider if I thought people were waiting to use them but it's not something I've noticed at the moment, apologies it wasn't fixed sooner,I was waiting for a plumber to come

Liked Lovely site with great welcome from staff. The weather wasn't great during our stay, but had it been nicer we would probably have used the facility of a campfire in the evening. The site is dog friendly. Although I don't think there is a specific dog walking area, there are plenty of places you can take your dog for a walk. We particularly liked that the site is only a 10 minute walk from Cheddar. We'll definitely be back. This is a great base from which to explore the local area.

Liked Lovely peaceful site. Lovely staff, who were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The restaurant on site was superb and dog friendly. The food was very good, well priced with good portions. We could have happily eaten there every evening.
Disliked The toilet and shower facilities were very good. The only slight niggle was that there was no temperature control on the showers. They took a while to heat up, and I would have preferred them a bit warmer.

Liked Small well organised site with lovely toilet and shower facilities. Excellent farm shop and café just opposite the site. Unfortunately the café is not dog friendly. Nice pub 5 minute walk away. Apparently it is dog friendly and serves food, but we did not eat there. The site has a dog walk and exercise field which was very good for our pup.
Disliked A shame dogs are not allowed in the farm shop/café.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we are pleased you liked the toilet and shower facilities and liked the local farm shop. We are also pleased you liked the dog exercise field. The pub is dog friendly and allow dogs inside as well as having an outdoor seating area. The cafe unfortunately doesn't allow dogs inside however they do have outdoor seating where you can eat food, this is perhaps better for the warmer weather. We hope you stay with us again soon.

Liked Great location on the edge of the Kielder Forest. Lovely quiet site in a dark sky area. Dedicated dog walking field, as well as lots of longer walks accessible from the site. A great get-away-from-it-all location. Also with Vodafone there was a strong 4G signal. Lots of hot water in the washrooms and showers.
Disliked Out of season, some of the main facilities were not open. This meant there was no dedicated sink and draining board for doing washing up.

Liked We loved the remote location of the site. Great access for walking and cycling. Nice hot shower and toilet facilities. Friendly welcome. Great café on the adjacent farm a nice mile walk each way. One stand-out feature was our fenced in pitch with electric hook up. Perfect for safely letting our pooch out to explore. We'll definitely stay there again.
Disliked Sad we only booked for one night. Could have stayed longer.

Liked Lovely quiet site in a remote location. Huge level grass pitch size with convenient electric hook-up. Clean and tidy bathroom facilities near-by, with very good hot showers. Great value free-range eggs on sale on the site. Very friendly staff. We had a lovely break, just what we needed.
Disliked Our fault really, but we arrived after dark. Being a remote dark location, there was no lighting to highlight where the pitches were. Took some trial and error to get parked up and get our bearings. As with any grass pitch at this time of year, some parts were quite muddy which made keeping our van clean a bit of a challenge. Some of the larger vans struggled to get unstuck the next morning, but fortunately we were fine.
