Liked Location - Dawlish Warren and public transport easily accessible from the site.
Toilets and showers new and always very clean.
Easy access from the Warren Road
Rules given verbally at the beginning of stay.
No noise after 12pm
Pitches a reasonable size and clearly marked.
Warden on-site, very approachable and friendly
Disliked Not a dislike but site is a basic site and only has basic essential facilities, would not be for everyone especially for those who have children who need occupying. We would certainly go back as it was perfect for us.

Liked Warm welcome by owners with full information about the site and local area.
Warm, modern and spotless toilets and showers, the cleanest that we have ever seen on a campsite!
Lovely woodland walks and a great rewinlding project going on.
Fab views of planes going over to / from Gatwick Airport.
20minute woodland walk to local pub and lakeside.
Pitches allocated to allow space between campers.
Good location for exploring local towns and villages.
Secure gate entry and exit
Disliked There wasn’t anything much to dislike. Sadly as one of us was ill we had to cut short our trip and leave on the last night but we will be back!

Liked What is there not to like about this site?
The location is just lovely and there is plenty of open space. The wonders are the most friendly owners of any campsite that I have ever stayed on (and that’s a lot!). The facilities are spotless, I’ve never seen such clean and well kept portaloos. The showers are hot, spotlessly clean, and very novel.
Plenty of fire pits to hire, good logs, firefighters etc etc available and good value too. In all, there is only positive to be said about this site and I can’t wait to come again.
Now the best bit is that you don’t even need to bring your own tent! We rented a Coleman octagon tent and it was fab, no pitching it having to take down the tent! We got there at mid day on day of arrival and left at 11am on the day of departure. The tent was spotlessly clean and ideal for us. No site that I have seen does it quite like this and we definitely want to come back every year.
This is a lovely site and a hidden gem.
Disliked Absolutely nothing.

Liked Lovely mown lollipop pitches; very friendly helpful owners; bunkhouse with pool table, sofa, kettle, and washing up area; clean and new compost toilets; free hot showers; lovely views of the viaduct; lovely valley views; free WiFi; and such a warm welcome on arrival. A really lovely stay and we’ll definitely be coming back.
Disliked Not the owners fault but one lady with a voice like a foghorn hollering at her two children from the time that she got there until bed time. We never actually heard the kids, just her yelling to them every 5 minutes that there were other people on the campsite - a shame she didn’t realise that herself! There’ll always be one ignorant camper but just a shame that she was so close - those poor kids will have a complex about camping when they’re older 🤪

Liked What a fabulous stay as always. Live music, lovely surroundings, coffee shop, food vendors and a fun atmosphere. Came for my birthday weekend and it has been one of the best.
Disliked Shower block is ‘work in progress’ and not an oversight so although I would have liked a shower over the weekend, the positives outweigh the current lack of showers - look forward to seeing them next time as we will definitely be back.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Large well spaced out pitches
Disliked Too few toilets for 100 pitches (6 toilets)
4 Showers only in operation for a few hours per day.
One washing up sink for 100 pitches.
One water point for 100 pitches.
Site rules existed yet they allowed a group of 6 units of travellers (about 20 people plus snappy dogs) to all pitch up together alongside the trees not obeying pitching spacing rules, peeing and whatever else in the hedges, dogs running around off leads one actually chased and bit someone’s child. Two travellers were walking around the private areas of the estate pulling branches off the trees to burn in their camp fire - even chopping them all up with a chainsaw that they brought with them and none of this was addressed by the camp wardens - it really did seem as if it was one set of relaxed rules for the travellers and another far more strict set of rules for the rest of the campers. I have nothing against travellers but I do have something against people who blatantly break the rulesand those who let them do it - bad show Hatton Camping, you should have had more guts and addressed the issues!

The Horse Box cabin
Liked We stayed in the horse box and we were so impressed with the quality of fittings and the design. Everything inside made from reclaimed wood and thoughtfully designed to include everything. The mini fridge was a half size fridge perfect for all our food and freezing some ice for drinks. There was sufficient cutlery crockery and glassware for 4 people and all very good quality. There were plenty of pots pans and utensils. The wood burner made it so cosy in the evening and at night - they set us up with a few logs to get us started and then big bags of logs could be purchased quite cheaply afterwards for the wood burner and the firepit outside which we used a couple of times. There was a bench table and chairs outside along with a barbecue and 4 camping chairs for more comfortable seating. The double bed was so comfy with a lovely snug quilt and really decent pillows and we really didn’t mind bringing our own bedding. We didn’t use the over-cab bed but would be ideal for a couple of children. The views from the horse box were beautiful and changed with the weather. Compost toilets were great but a little way from the horse box which may have been an issue in the rain for some but for us, it wasn’t a problem. The staff were so lovely and really helpful. In all a really great 3 night stay and we now want to come back to try the other accommodation when we can.

Liked What a lovely bank holiday weekend and what a lovely site. We thought we were going to go sightseeing but stayed on the site the entire weekend. Some pitched were a bit tight but they were deep so it didn’t really matter. Noise went to a minimum at 11pm prompt (I don’t know what others were talking about when they said it was noisy, they must have reviewed the wrong site!). There were lots of children there enjoying themselves and playing together but that is what kids do … we certainly didn’t see feral kids, just kids having fun enjoying their break. The bar and restaurant was great, just a bit disappointed it closed so early on Sunday evening. It was fab being able to have a fire pit and being able to buy logs at the shop. Showers were fine and clean enough given that hundreds of people were using them at a bank holiday weekend … it’s a camp site so you have to expect some mud around don’t you?. All the staff were polite and helpful and all in all, it was a delight. Looking forward to coming back.
Disliked Maybe the owners need to review Sunday bar and restaurant closing times, especially on a bank holiday Sunday. Only other dislike was having to come home, could have stayed a lot longer.m

Liked Loads of space and massive camping fields. Level pitches and able to get some shade from hedges around the fields. Portaloo's and toilets in barn meant never having to wait to use the toilets and all kept spotlessly clean. Catering outlet serving excellent quality food and alcoholic drinks. All in all a really good stay and would definitely come back
Disliked It was a shame that there were such long queues for food that took so long to deal with. Maybe a better system for taking orders and a separate queue just for drinks may help. Apart from that, nothing to dislike.

Liked Stressed out after a bereavement the same week, we set out to find a place to come to that would give us a bit of respite and some time out just for a weekend - found this great little camp site that gave us the best weekend we could possibly have had under the sad circumstances.
The owners were really friendly, the other campers were great, the facilities were far more than we expected for such a small camp site and was a testimony to the hard work that the owners must have put into it.
We were pleasantly surprised to find a small café serving drinks, food and selling essential supplies - tables outside meant that other campers could sit in the sun and chat which was great for meeting people and just chilling out. The food was cooked fresh and really good value - in fact everything they sold was excellent value for money and far cheaper than a lot of more commercial camp sites.
Contrary to a few (unwarranted) moans I have seen on this site, the facilities were excellent - lovely hot showers kept really clean and ample toilets for the small number of pitches - I am sure that any camp site wouldn't have enough toilets if the site were full and everyone wanted to go at the same time so take no notice of any moans - its a camp site not a hotel with en-suite facilities!
It was great to see that they also had communal fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer although we didn't need to use it for the weekend its handy to know it is there for when we come again.
The site had some beautiful quiet country walks and was totally perfect for the type of weekend we wanted - good company when we needed it and some solitude for just chilling out. You certainly won't get that at many camp sites.
Thank you so much for such a great weekend - it did us both so much good at a time when we really needed a break and we will definitely be back again soon.
Disliked What is there to dislike about this site? It's just fab

Liked A friendly efficient welcome started our stay. The staff showed us a couple of pitches, helped us find the most level and even helped us hook up to the electric.
The site is in a lovely location and very peaceful. Plenty of clean and spacious showers and toilets in the block and a very useful laundry room.
Plenty of information available at reception and always a welcoming smile.
This is not an all singing and all dancing camp site. There is no bar, pool or clubhouse and thank goodness there isn't! It is a peaceful, spacious, relaxing and beautiful farm location and long may it remain so.
Thank you for a lovely stay and I really hope we can come back again soon
Disliked It would be an idea to stock some essentials like tea coffee milk and bread and possibly some essential camping supplies for emergencies as there is no shop within walking distance but this is just an observation and not really a dislike, there isn't much to dislike about the site, its lovely.

Liked There was noting not to like about this site - all weekend I was expecting to find at least one flaw but honestly could not find one. A friendly welcome, very good restaurant food, entertainment, reasonably priced drinks, dog friendly section to the bar and a really lovely view to wke up to. I'd highly recommend this site ... It wouldn't really suit disabled people with mobility issues due to the steep inclines getting from the bar and shop to the pitches.
Disliked Change the signage in the bar for the toilets to 'Disabled', these days "handicapped" is not really acceptable ... You are all lovely people and I'm sure it wasn't meant to offend anyone but it may well inadvertently do so in time. Other than that, noting else to say, pretty much the perfect site for us :-)
